Hi there
Take the SD card out of the device and pop it into a card adapter and plug it directly into your computer. Copy the files off it onto your computer and then format. I'd recommend doing a full format of the card. This will take a while so please be patient.
Once the formatting is complete, copy your data back to the card and pop it back into the device.
