SIM Update Text = NO MMS

Ok whats the deal? VODAFONE send me a text saying we have just updated your SIM menu & now i can't send or recieve MMS. After several calls to support they can't send settings and the ones via the support pdf on the internet don't work. No one at Vodafone can explain or assist. Anyone else getting nailed by this?

Re: SIM Update Text = NO MMS

Hiya If in anyway possible, maybe try and rule out whether its the sim or the phone by trying it in another device if possible ?

Re: SIM Update Text = NO MMS

Hi there brosnan,

Thanks for your post regarding your inability to send MMS since the SIM update. In all fairness, the SIM update shouldn't affect the settings in the handset in any way whatsoever.

Personally, I never use the SIM menu on my Google Nexus One.

It would be fantastic if you could reply to the questions posed by FelixDaHousecat and bertyb. That way we have a means of checking the settings and possibly the SIM card before further troubleshooting steps can be taken.

Have you tried the troubleshooting site to see if it can be fixed without our help?

Give it a go and let me know how you get on.

Cheers,

Re: SIM Update Text = NO MMS

Update,

Ok, Phone is HTC HD2, running SPB mobile shell. Tech support have tried to remove and re set my account their end, the settings have been run manually both Internet & MMS at least 10 tens, and every time they try over the wire config it fails (go figure)

The sim card worked externally and but when a new SIM was added to the phone it received the config update text when the failed.

I do some work for SPB so have a lot of App's installed. I really don't like the idea that I have to brick my phone and rebuild it, (days work) especially as HTC and now Orange have released the latest ROM (Vodafone are lagging)  I know this all started after the SIM Menu update which is hard to work out but either way it's and over the air change, and that the ONLY change. I am guessing the Fix will be to delete the setting via the registry (yes I know very naughty) and then rebuild the MMS.

Any ideas would be helpful, XDA have any posts on similar issues but none of the solution seem to apply.

Just an as ide gotta love the spell check that picks up MMS, SIM, HTC, Vodafone as errors :-)

Cheers
