I'm wondering if my HTC Desire HD is faulty as it only notifies me when I have received a text/e-mail when it feels like it.  It's very intermittent as is the little flashing green light which only seems to want to flash when it's in the mood!  Any advice gratefully received...

Hi,

What's the signal strength like on your phone? e.g. is it displaying GPRS, 3G etc?

First thoughts are you may be in and out of coverage if it's leading to delayed alerts

Hi.  Reception is normally at least 2 bars.  I've received a replacement phone but it appears to be doing the same thing so can't have been the handset must be something else.  Very frustrating!!!

Ps, it doesn't always show an envelope on the bar at the top of the screen when I receive a text or on the icon I have on my home screen. Sometimes I have to go into the actual messages to know that there's one or more waiting for me.

Thanks for posting, I can imagine this must be quite frustrating. I've done a quick search for this issue and can see it's also been reported here: Desire HD Message Alert Issue.

As I don't think this has been raised to our devices team yet, can you let me know which firmware version you're running? This can be found by going to Settings > About Phone > Software Info. Once I have this, I'll raise a case for you.
