I have set up my Sensation to connect to my home wifi connection. It connects fine and shows the connection in the top status bar by the clock, always with a good signal, usually full.
The wifi will appear to be working correctly for a period of time, usually about 5 to 10 minutes.
However if I later then pick up my phone to do something (say 15 minutes later), when I try and do something that uses the connection (browse the internet, use Google Reader), the behaviour is as though there is no internet connection. The requests just time out, and it just doesnt work (though, it does still show a full wifi signal). This also provides a problem with the background syncing as my emails etc do not push to my phone when I'm at home, as it cannot seem to use the wifi connection for data.
I assumed my broadband was down at first but it wasn't. Either restarting the phone, or just turning off the wi-fi (setting on the phone, not the router!) and then turning it back on, resolves the issue, but only for another short period of time, another 15 minutes or so.
It's a very odd problem, I thought i might see more about it on the forum but I've had a look and don't see other reported problems like this. So does anybody else know of a possible resolution to this issue?
Some more information:
Android version: 2.3.3
HTC Sense version: 3.0
Software number: 18.104.22.168
Wi-fi connection secured with WPA-PSK
I have tried a battery pull but not actually a factory reset, I've only had my phone for a couple of weeks and just finally got it set up how I like! But if somebody thinks a factory reset might work, I'll give it a try if I need to.

I think your Wifi settings on the phone are set to "Sleep", when the screen turns off.
Settings > Wireless and Network > WiFi settings > Menu > Advanced > WiFi Sleep Policy...
I always have mine set to NEVER.
I am using a Galaxy S so the menu may be slightly different, but this should guide you in the right direction.
