Bought my daughter an HTC Legend Handset 2 years ago and recently uograded to an I phone 4S. Daughter gave her old HTC Legend to her mother to use - mother has an Orange PAYG sim.  She has managed to unlock the network but needs to get the HTC Legend handset unlocked so she can use her Orange sim,

Any ideas ???     Can she take the handset to an independant shop / stall and get it unlocked there ??   If so, does she need any codes, etc ??   Or does she need to do this via Vodafone and if so, at what cost ??

All thoughts / advice gratefully accepted !!!

We will be able to unlock the old Vodafone supplied handset for you if this is ultimately what you are looking for.

It's worth noting there will be no charge to use this service.

One thing that does confuse me is that you've stated your wife has managed to unlock the network but the handset still needs to be unlocked to be able to use the Orange SIM. My understanding is that unlocking the network allows this type of usage so they're actually one and the same.

If you could clarify that point for me we'll be better placed to advise accordingly.
