Using the HTC One M8 with hearing aids

I have been wearing Phonak hearing aids for many years and, even with them, I have always struggled to hear the phone properly.

I have an HTC One M8 phone and read that there was a Bluetooth facility that would enable me to hear my mobile phone calls easier.

This is a link to the instructions:

http://eguides.sprint.com/support/eguides/htconem8/index.html#htc_one_m8_ug/hearing_aids.html

However, when I go into my phone, there is no "hearing aids" option once I have pressed "call" as described within the link.

Can someone please advise me about this as I don't know why I cannot access this? Was it introduced, perhaps, in an update that I don't haven on the phone ?

Thanks

Sorry if I am being thick but can you not just pair the phone with the hearing aid?

Assuming your haven't already found them, here are the instructions for pairing your hearing aid with your phone:

http://www.phonak.com/com/b2c/en/products/wireless-accessories/products/compilot/bluetooth-pairing-g...

I don't think you need the options you're looking for in Settings and I don't think that has anything to do with Bluetooth (it just sounds like a volume increaser).  Pair the phone with the HA and the latter should work like a headset, as far as I can see.
