Topic says it all, as they say. I bought my Vodafone-branded Magic 32B from Germany last summer. I just learned about the Froyo-update finally coming to our beloved handset, so I promptly rebooted the phone, pulled up the settings menu and checked for updates. For some reason, it says that my phone is up to date even though it still runs Android 1.6/Donut. Here's a rundown of what my phone reports when checking the settings- and boot-menus:

So what say ye, fellow British brethren - will Vodafone UK show my HTC Magic some of that Froyo love or will they say Nein! and leave me out in the cold?

I don't know the answer, but for what it's worth, my Magic is on 1.6, and it says it's up to date.

Well, that comment wasn't worth that much, to tell you the truth. If you for starters begin to tell us where your Vodafone-branded handset is from then your reply would at least have some meaning. This thread is about Vodafone-Magics bought in Germany, so if you picked up your phone in the UK then you havn't added much to the discussion at all. Unfortunately.

I was letting you know that your phone can say "up to date", even though it's running 1.6

Look at the original post and then the follow-up, and then consider what you have written yourself. You still haven't said one word about the origin of your phone. If you did buy it in Germany and you haven't received the Froyo-update yet, then your comment makes sense. If, however, you are from the UK then your post doesn't add much at all to the thread. Again, this thread is about Vodafone-branded handsets bought in Germany and not in the UK.

I only posted to let you know that "up to date" can appear, even though a Magic handset phone is still on 1.6. This counts for phones in the UK as well as ones bought in Germany.

Yes it's eligible for the update. I have an 32b device that purchased in Germany, just upgraded in Turkey

Thank you for your reply. I can now also confirm that Vodafone-branded Magic 32B-handsets bought in Germany are in fact eligible for the Android 2.2.1/Froyo-update. For anyone interested, this is what the phone gets updated to:

i have the same htc magic 32b from Germany Vodafone but i don't succed to mage the update just the first part, the second (bigger), when i install it just in the middle of installation freeze my phone with exclamation sign, any solution???
