Volume Rocker Dropped of Sensation

Hi Guys,

I have had the HTC sensation since May this year and for the most part I have been happy with the phone.

About ten days ago the volume rocker on the side of the phone had dissapeared, I can only presume it dropped of the phone at some point.

I dropped the phone of at the vodafone shop to get it repaired to be told that I maybe charged for the repair of this which I am extremely annoyed about as I have treated the phone excellently.

I have seen on the web that this has happened to quite a few people - I just wanted to know if anyone else has experienced this with Vodafone?

Thanks,

Alex.

Re: Volume Rocker Dropped of Sensation

Hi Zanders.

I've got a HTC Sensation too, and I can see how this can easily be dislodged from the handset, especially when the back cover is off. I have knocked mine out of the case a couple of times, but managed to notice and replace before I popped the back on again.

When it comes to a warranty claim, the issue would need to be a known manufacturing defect or an issue that was caused when doing general day to day usage of the handset. It may be worth contacting HTC directly as they can advise if they class this as a defect or user damage.

Re: Volume Rocker Dropped of Sensation

Thats quite amazing :s

One bonus of the Sensation, I guess, is that after some wear and tear you can get a new cover off ebay (being careful) so you could get pre-chromed, white, the standard one or even the XE back and it will make the device look good as new - htye also come with new volume rockers and power buttons... but like Isaid be very careful to make sure you get a genuine one. (look at the text of the auction and the seller feedback)

Re: Volume Rocker Dropped of Sensation

The volume rocker has fallen off my HTC sensation also while I was using ithe phone.  I got the phone in October 2011.  Also my friends say that when I call them they can hardly make out what I say as my voice is very muffled.  Can i get these issues repaired under warranty?

Re: Volume Rocker Dropped of Sensation

Got a genuine one off Amazon £14.49. At least I don't have to send phone away. Not sure what to do about outgoing call sound quality though :smileyhappy:

Outgoing Call Quality

My friends say that when I call them I sound like I am talking through a really heavy cold or like someone else said as if I have my head in a bucket. Anyone got any ideas on how to fix this? It spoils an otherwise excellent phone.

Re: Outgoing Call Quality

Hi skgunn,

To be honest when it comes to an issue with outbound call quality it is an issue that would normally be repaired under the warranty of the phone.

However, as you have replaced the volume rocker it is possible that if they deem interference with the device has happened then it may not be repaired.

Unfortunately the only way to find out would be to send the phone off to either HTC or us so that and engineer can take a look at the phone for you.

You can find details on our repair process here.

James
