Re: WIFI Error HTC Sensation

Hi 34parklane,

Do you get anything other than "error" when you try to switch the Wi-Fi on? If you can confirm the full error message, that may help to identify the cause.

Also, can you just advise if, when you say you "reset" the phone, do you mean that you have carried out a factory reset of the Sensation? If so, did you test before restoring any data or apps to the phone?

Finally for now, does this happen wherever you are? If you're only trying when in range of the same router, it may be that the device is automatically trying to connect and that the issue lies there. To rule this out, ensure the Wi-Fi settings are wiped and reboot the router before retrying, and also try with a public hotspot or an alternate private network.

Don't forget that if needed you have the option of our warranty repair service as well.

Re: WIFI Error HTC Sensation

Dave

Thanks for the reply,

How would i find the full error message? I go into settings and flick wifi on.....it thinks for about 20 to 30 seconds then says error (where it previosuly said "Turning Wi-Fi on", nothing else.

When i reset the phone i just did a factory reset via "settings" ---> "Storage" ----> "Factory Data Reset"

Before i downloaded anything i checked the wifi and got the same error.

next i cleared the Cache (holding down several buttons whilst the phone was off to bring up some kind of sub menu) this did nothing either.

The infomation on my SD card was NOT wiped when i reset, so when i turned the phone back on anything on there, Apps or otherwise was just loaded back onto the phone...i wonder should i wipe the SD card aswell????

The problem occurs everywhere...it just wont turn on. It started a few weeks ago and it did start to work for a day or so after i left it off overnight....then it stopped working again.....i have tried doing this since but no luck.

How would i wipe the wifi settings?

Must be 3 weeks now.

In terms of warranty i suspect after a year its no good. Repair maybe an option.

Cheers
