I've installed GB 2.3.3 and wants to go back to the original VF firmware (2.2.2).

How can I get back to VF firmware ?

That is indeed a terrible idea.

Still, it's not too difficult, you'll have to root using the new Gingerbreak method, install ROM Manager again, use that to flash ClockworkMod recovery then use that to restore the backup you took prior to installing Gingerbread. Simples.
