google play services has stopped error message continously flashes up

On my HTC One Mini 2, an error message continously keeps flashing up saying "Unfortunately Google Play Services has stopped".  I click OK and it flashes up again - over and over.  I can't do anything else on my phone, as this error message is there all the time.  I pressed the report button, but couldn't even send a report, as I can't press any other buttons on my phone, as the error message just keeps coming back up.  Any advice on how to fix this?

Is there an update for Google Play Services for you?
Have you checked in the Play Store under the "My Apps" section?

I have just had the same issue. Decided ti uninstall most of the Google Apps including Google Play. It will restore the App to factory default. Since doing this the issue has resolved. Hope this helps.

Clearing the data in the app might do it as well.

I was facing the same problem. But after followed all these steps through and it appears to be fixed!
