The Android ICS 4.0.3 firmware upgrade for the Huawei Ascend G300 is now available.
A message will appear in the notification bar at the top of your screen when the update is available. Please ensure that you are connected to a Wi-Fi connection to perform this update and follow the on screen instructions.
You can also perform this update manually. This can be done as follows:
Note: Make sure that the power of the battery is enough to run the upgrade process.
1.1 You will need an external SD card of 2GB or more or internal storage of the same size, to check this go to: Settings > Storage > Internal storage
1.2 Please ensure that you are connected to a Wi-Fi connection to perform this upgrade and follow the on screen instructions.
2.1 The first step of the upgrade is to download the Gingerbread software (B895) which will allow you to then back up your data before performing the Ice Cream Sandwich update. Please note you will not be able to upgrade to Ice Cream Sandwich without updating your G300 to Gingerbread first.
2.2 Follow the steps below to upgrade your phone to Gingerbread.
2.3 Once the Gingerbread upgrade is complete, follow the steps below to update you phone to Ice Cream Sandwich (B896). Once the software is downloaded you will automatically be prompted to back up the data on your G300 before you are able to install the update.

When the G300 boots up, open All Backup to restore the data on your device
When the phone back up data is complete, please restart your G300 manually.
Go to Settings > About phone > Build number, to check the version: U8815V100R001C02B936
