K3805-Z dongle not working in Linux (Ubuntu 12.04)

I have a K3805-Z that is not working on Linux (Ubuntu 12.04). Specifically, it connects and shows 'Vodafone Contract HSPA' - but does not access the internet.
I had a similar problem in a previous version of Ubuntu - but I was able to make it work using Betavine - but the old Betavine software (no longer updated by Vodafone?) does not work in Ubuntu 12.04.
So my question is to the Vodafone tech guys - can you make it work with Linux? - and if not, can you recommend (or even better send) to me a USB dongle that WILL work with Ubuntu?

Hi there adsy,
I'm afraid Linux isn't supported on Vodafone UK therefore I'm unable to provide you with a workaround/fix.
The support route for Linux is still Betavine. You will need to sign up and post in their forums for further support.
Cheers,
Lee
