Mobile Connect download issues on Windows 7 Starter

Hi there, please can someone help?

Have a new netbook, running Windows 7 starter, and just got a Vodafone K4511 non-plug & play dongle, went to the vodafone latest software page to download Mobile Connect software as instructed in manual, but cannot get anything to work.

The 100MB zip file downloads, but then nothing runs, and nothing happens when i plug in the dongle. Seems like the software downloaded doesn't actually run at all, just sits in zip file in downloads folder?

Any ideas? Really stuck and can't find any info explaining what might be wrong.

thanks

HI,

if you extract the compressed file to a temporary folder on your computer, there should be a file called setup_vmb.  double click on this, and it should start to install the latest version of the mobile broadband software.   Once installed, you should have an icon on the desktop and/or a shortcut in your startmenu which you can open the software with if it does not automatically open when you plug the dongle in.

That worked perfectly, all sorted and now connected through dongle, thanks a million Grayman.
