Once again, thank you to Jon and the DJ guy who helped with this matter.

I dont expect anything in return for the outage or downtime as in my opinion you were quite right
in stating that the Internet was available still and only a few sites affected,
However if i may say or even advise is that you address the reason/s why it took so long to fix this problem,
It could of been so much worse affecting a more wider audience - its only by pure luck that it was only a handfull of people -
However wether it was 50,000 people or 5 it doesnt matter, after all arent all customers important ?
Seriously,someone somewhere should be reprimanded.
Thankyou for fixing the issue.
* To all the people who claimed the problem was not Vodafones problem, you clearly did not or do not know
what you were talking about and your comments were ill-informed if not idiotic.

So you finally fix this problem, but ever since (ie a couple of days ago) i now get a vodafone message saying:
CONTENT CONTROL
SITE UNAVAILABLE
Unfortunately due to a temporary fault we are unable to confirm if you have removed Content control.
As a precautionary measure, we have barred access to this site until we can confirm your Content control status
NOW
i phoned up vodafone 2 or 3 days ago (when you fixed this original problem) and checked that all content control was off. Which she confirmed.
Now if i log in and out again of the modem it sometimes removes this content control block and allows me to access the websites i want to visit.
so WHY all of a sudden has this happened.
Note. i now get this content control on sites ive never normally had a problem with.
one problem after another at the moment with vodafone,
dont get me started on the ###### storm i am now stuck with for a year.

No doubt this continues to be frustrating for you,
Indeed the content control should have remained on the account and I suspect there must be some sort of network lapse causing it not be recognised by the modem connection. Please try the following as I'm sure it will fix the problem:
1. Remove the sim card from the modem
2. insert into a Vodafone Live enabled handset
3. Connect to Vodafone Live and browse through a few pages
4. If possible do a manual roam (ie search for network maually to refresh the connection)
5. Without switching off the phone remove sim card and insert back into modem
6. Try connecting to your sites again.
All this does is re-afirm the network settings ie Content control,
Let us know how you get on so we can look into any further problems
Thanks

My feeling is that your phone does not have the correct WAP settings.

Hi when I go to vodafone live there is an error (tcp_error) and I cannot download anything from vodafone live even though I can use normal internet. I still have alot of space on my phone so I have no idea what the problem is. There is no content control as I can browse the web fine.
There might be a problem with my phone as I have tried putting my sim card into my friend's phone and I can download fine on her's but whe i went to a vodafone shop they said it might be something else. Please help as i am very nhappy
Hi tigerlil65
I think you've answered your own question here.
The fact the your sim works to download in another handset suggests that theres nothing on the network or your account to cause this issue.
The fact you only have the problem when it's in your phone seems to point towards a handset fault.
You could confirm this by going back to the store and having them put your sim into the same model handset and testing it.
Once we can confirm if it's the handset or not, we can see about fixing it.
Thanks

Sorry I have no idea about what these errors mean but have tried a friends 3 dongle today and everything functioned fine when using this, so assuming this is a Vodafone issue.
It is driving me MAD as I have registered several things and it creates an error and does not go through. The same with forum posts!
I am using a Mac OSX 10.5.5 and having these issues using Safari and Firefox. As I mention above, everything is fine when I am not using vodafone as my service provider grrrrrrr At £40 a month you expect a service that works!!

I'm sorry to hear that you have having problems with the service here. I would love to be able to get this all working correctly for you.
As Neil_Brown has stated the two error messages that you have recieved are indicating an issue with signal strength in your area. Could you please confirm what you full postcode is? We'll then be able to take a look at this for you and investigate this further.
I'm sure we'll be able to get to the bottom of this for you.
Let me know if you have any more questions and we'll be more than happy to help you further
Thanks
Wayne
