R101 wont connect to K3565Z

Hallo having following problem
Recently bought the R101 sharing hub
Using it with my Vodafone UK Pay as you go K3570Z - no problems at all.
However when try to use it with my K3565Z modem (that is with Bulgarian Vodafone Mtel Operator Sim Card in on a contract basis) have no success in connecting. On the sharing hub login browser interface it shows "Device not connected - No signal", no matter that the dongle blinks in blue when inserted in the hub.
Of course I tried different connect options (both automatic and manual as well as mtel presettings) and of course the Z3565 dongle is working OK when plugged in directly into PC USB.
The firmware of the R101 is the latest one 09.2011 and apparently Z3565 as a compatible devise
Seems it is a hardware problem - router doesn not recognize the stick for some reason, but apparently I am short of further ideas how to fix that
Thanks for your help on that
PS Best solution to go around this, is to put the Mtel sim card in the 3570 and use it when in Bulgaria, however 3570 is sim locked .

Hi strahil95,
Welcome to the Vodafone eForum from all of the team.
I have taken a look at the R101 specifications for you and can only see the following modems that are compatible with the latest firmware release for the sharing dock;
Vodafone K5005 USB Stick
Vodafone K4511 USB Stick
Vodafone K4510 USB Stick
Vodafone K4605 USB Stick
Vodafone K4505-Z USB Stick
Vodafone K4505 USB Stick
Vodafone K3806 USB Stick
Vodafone K3806-Z USB Stick
Vodafone K3805 USB Stick
Vodafone K3805-Z USB Stick
Vodafone K3771 USB Stick - 3G only
Vodafone K3770 USB Stick – 3G only
Vodafone K3765-Z USB Stick
Vodafone K3765 USB Stick
Vodafone K3760 USB Stick
Vodafone K3571-Z USB Stick
Vodafone K3570-Z USB Stick
Vodafone K3715 USB Stick
Vodafone K3565-Z USB Stick
Vodafone K3565 USB Stick
Vodafone K3520-Z USB Stick
Vodafone K3520 USB Stick
Novatel Wireless MC950D USB Stick
Vodafone E272 USB Modem
Huawei E220 USB Modem
Huawei E172 USB Modem
Huawei E160 USB Modem
Samsung GT-B3740
As you mention, I can see both the modems that you are using are on the compatibility list and as such there shouldn’t be any issues other than a conflict with firmware connectivity variants.
The best way to test this is to get the K3570Z unlocked by using the online unlock code request form.
Once unlocked you will then be able to try the Bulgarian SIM in the dongle to see if a connection can be made.
James

Dear Dave
Thanks for your prompt reply (i was not able to look at teh forum for a while hence my delay in answering
Seems the option for unlocking the K3570Z would be a solution however i seea statement
" We can only supply unlock codes for existing Vodafone pay monthly customers and the phone/IMEI associated with your account"
And I am on PAG basis with the UK vodaphone
Would there still be a chance for me to havce the unlock code?
Also the device model is not mentioned in the drop down list - i assume i have to choose vodafone data services in that case?
Many thanks for getting back to me
Cheers
Peter

Actually same story with me I have been given a code by NUC resolutionon my inquiry for my K3570Z .
But they are giving unlocking instructions for a Vodafone 547 handset
I have given up contacting NUC as I feel it will be in vain so if someone in this Forum knows the unlocking instrructionss for the K3570Z will be great to share (hope NUC have given me the correct code and not one for Vodafone 547)

Hi strahil95,
The software that you need to unlock your dongle can be found on my post here.
Simply download the attachment, extract the software using the password nuc and run the application, this will then prompt you for the NUC that you have been given to unlock the dongle.
Please make sure that the dongle is connected when this is being run.

Hallo james - thanks you are as prompt as always
To my regret however i am still facing a pronlem
I unzipped the soft (no password needed actually)
However on opening it there is a pop up saying "Data Card not found" . Needless to say my Vodaphone PYG 3570 dongle is properly connected at the time of running the soft. (if works fine when i start Vodaphone Mobile Broadband software) but the unlock soft doesnt recognize it.
Could it be another unlock soft for this model (3570)?
What also warries me is that when i press the OK button of the error pop up screen the program opens and by defauls requires 6-8 diigits unlock code while NUC gave me a 16 (leters and numbers) code. so i wonderr if there is something wrong with it.
(see attachments)
Thanks
Peter

Thanks Simon
Meanwhile i also asked them (for second time as didnt have reply when i asked them a month ago) to confirm the NUC is for my dongle and not for a handset they refer too.
Will wait and see
Thanks again guys for being so responsive!

Strahil95, just wondering if you ever received a reply from Simon or anyone else. I am in the same boat as you with my E172 dongle. Received code from NUC....tried Simon's unlock software but it does not recognise my dongle so I am stuck.
