Hey Shinho62_uk,
Many thanks for your post.
Are you actually trying to connect to a VPN at all?
Which version of VMB have you downloaded?
Could you also conform which APN you are using please?
I've asked the question of a contact I have but would appreciate it if you could update the thread with the information I've requested.
Cheers,
Lee

My first post as I am also having this problem on new i5 Macbook Pro running Lion 7.2.
Been trying to sort this for the last few days.
I am using the latest version 4.0.704.00 downladed and restarted the mac several times.
Tried uninstalling and reinstalling, rebooting all to no avail.
I can get in as connected and check my balance using the default connection and also by making a new " custom dongle connection" although I cannot access the internet

Sue — can I ask, is your error the same as the original poster's (problems connecting to a VPN / access the Internet through a VPN), or just a general problem accessing the Internet, without a VPN?

Are you using the K3565 dongle, or a different dongle, Sue?

I could be wrong, Sue, but I'm surprised that the DNS address is 192.168.1.254 — this might account for the problem.
Are you able to change the DNS settings manually? At least for the purposes of a test, you could try Google's DNS offerin (although chances are Google's using that to build information about you) — 8.8.8.8
You could also test if DNS is the problem (before changing anything) by connecting as you are currenty, opening a browser, and then typing the following into your address bar:
173.194.41.160
If this resolves to Google, then it would point to a DNS problem.

Hi Neil
Thanks for trying to assist
Tried the 8.8.8.8 and get
Your connection failed because the communication device is unavailable. Make sure it's connected to your computer and try reconnecting.
The dns in the screen shot was used as that is as it is on the Vodafone donge default.
Also notice using the vodafone connect that my credit has gone down by 9p !!!!

Tried the 8.8.8.8
Sorry — perhaps a silly question — did you adjust the DNS settings in favour of 8.8.8.8, or just paste this into your browser? If the latter, then I would probably expect it to fail.
Also notice using the vodafone connect that my credit has gone down by 9p !!!!
This suggests that a data connection is being made... although, if you cannot access Google by pasting 173.194.41.160 into your browser, it would suggest that it's not DNS which is the problem!

Hi Neil
Seems we have success.
I have created a new custom setting using dns as 8.8.8.8
Strange thing is though it connects through both the vodafone default setting AND the new custom settings at the same time means I am online.
Will report back if I have any further problems.

How odd — I've not idea why it might be doing that.
It might be worth deleting one of the connections, and just going with the other.
However, frankly, I'm just glad it's working for you!

Hi Kimla,
The K3565 is indeed Lion-compatible as long as the latest software is installed. If this isn't what you installed, you can find it here.
If you haven't picked up the dongle yet and you're going PAYG, then you might want to consider the newer K3770 modem. Alternatively, there's also the R205 Mobile Wi-Fi portable hotspot if you have multiple devices to connect.
