Hi all

I installed Vodafone mobile Software to a windows 2008 server pc. Installation was ok , but vmbservice is stopping automatically so the software is unable to find it and crashes.

Any idea?

Thanks

Hi kpkmp33,

I’m sorry to see the problems you’ve had with this.

Have you got everything sorted now?

If you’re still having problems, please let us know what error messages you’re seeing when this happens. Also, at what point does this stop at crash?

Thanks,

Jenny

I need to install the internet ASAP on this server to activate the windows  ... can you help

Hi monira_b,

I’d suggest checking that there’s no existing installation of Vodafone Mobile Broadband (VMB) on your Windows 2008 server PC.

If there is, fully uninstall it and then run the clean up tool which you can download here.

If there isn’t, just download and run the clean up tool.

Once you’ve done this, download and install the full version of VMB from here.

Let me know how you get on.

Cheers,

Andy

Hi,

I'm having a similar problem.

I don't have previous versions of the program installed. I already executed the clean up tool indicated by you and I've installed the full version of the software. Everything goes smoothly till I try to open the Vodafone Mobile Broadband, it starts opening the program and then give me an error with the message "Service not found! Make sure that the service with the name VmbService is running...".

I tried to directly start the service on Windows Services but it never stays active and in the eventviewer logs I found this message:

Service cannot be started. System.Runtime.InteropServices.COMException (0x80040154): Retrieving the COM class factory for component with CLSID {BDFEE05B-4418-11DD-90ED-001C257CCFF1} failed due to the following error: 80040154.

at Vodafone.NtService.Core.NtServiceCore.OnStart()
at Vodafone.NtService.NtService.OnStart(String[] args)
at System.ServiceProcess.ServiceBase.ServiceQueuedMainCallback(Object state)

Note: I'm using a 64 bit computer (Windows Server 2008).

Can you help me, please...

regards,

Manuel

Hi manunascimento,

Please let us know what Mobile Broadband device you're using.
