Hi, I use an SSH client on my phone to SSH into our work servers. This works fine with my T-Mobile sim, but simply times out when I connect using the same application, from the same handset, to the same server using my Vodafone sim.

I purchased this Vodafone pay-as-you-go sim to check this before signing a contract. I'd like to switch to Vodafone since their 3G coverage at my home is better than T-Mobile, but I have to have SSH working for my job.

Web browsing works fine, so I know the phone's internet connection is OK over Vodafone, it just looks like port 22 has been blocked.

Please can anyone help me resolve this?

I'll be lying if I said I know what you're taking about here, I'm not very techno . I have however got a colleague to take a glance at this post and he's advised me that port 22 should not be blocked.

So that we can help you further, I'm sending you an email, just reply back with the info requested .

I have exactly the same issue right now trying to use SSH to administer a server.

VF - is this blocked across all connections or can this be lifted on a case by case basis?

I got this to be able to work and now discovering that I can't seemingly use SSH to administer servers and also cannot use SVN for development means I'll hihgly likely be disappearing off to another provider...

EDIT: OK SSH has now connected! Still not overly happy about not being able to use SVN though
