hi all

voda started blocking calls over voip like skype or sipdroid accounts and other audio and video streaming services like aljazeera english mobie friendly audio and video stream and others. what is a point of having 1gb of data  when you cant use them on what you want?they used to block these about year ago but because so many people complained they were forced to unrestrict the web. i am therefore calling on voda to unrestrict the mobile web because it is ludicrous that you buy service that is only half functional. i think also that offcom should have look into this.

Have just tried using Skype on my IP4. It let me make the test call with out any problems at all. So dont think Vodafone is blocking Skype.

well i have android os htc desire and test call quality is ridiculous. so is sipdroid and other streams. iphone i think uses different ports and iphone users were and are always better off when it comes to internet usage.

Thanks for your pos there. I'm sorry to hear that you are having problems with this but we don't block these services.

If you are having problems with call quality then the problem maybe down to either; the program/app/service itself or; your internet speed.

Are you definitely using 3G to run these types of programs?

I had a one hour Skype to Skype video call to my brother yesterday on PAYG 3G no problems at all. BBC iPlayer is fine too.

that's right. problem is not with voda. i have also htc hero and everything works on it. htc desire has problem with reception. getting abou -90dbm on it while hero at same place get -63dbm. ######.

Entirely my fault. i had wap settings on my apn. i created new apn settings for pay monthly Internet wap wap and everything works excellent.
