K3565 - No internet connection via Draytek Vigor 2820

Hi there,

I've browsed a number of posts on this topic but none so far have appeared to work on my Draytek Vigor 2820 Router.

I have connected the USB to a Pc to verify that it works correctly and have used the diagnostics page to obtain the information for entry in the Routers configuration.

On the Network Diagnostics page the details are as follows:

APN: pp.internet
Username: web
Password: ???

The device is a HUWAEI K3565 (Firmware version: 11.608.10.51.00) and its a PAYG.

On the Router I have configured the following:

PP Client Mode= Enable
Sim Pin Code:
Modem Initial String APN:pp.internet
APN name:
Modem Dial String: ATCT*99#
Username: web
Password: ???

I have set the router to switch to the USB dongle upon failure of our normal Internet connection and followed Joe Langs instructions. However, this does not seem to work with my Router.

When the USB is in the router I only get a flashing Green Light as oppose to the Blue Light indicating that we have a GPRS signal but we are not able to connect to the internet etc.

Is there something else obvious that I'm missing here (to close to the trees so to speak) or is this a problem that someone else has experienced also?

Any help or pointers would be much appreciated.

Thanks

Hi bubblegumcrisis

Welcome to the eForum. It's always nice to see new faces. :)

The settings you have there are not 100% correct, and this may be what is causing the issue for you.

They should be:

APN: pp.internet ( or ppbundle.internet if you have a K3565r)
Username: web
Password: web

PP Client Mode= Enable
Sim Pin Code:
Modem Initial String: +cgdcont=1,"IP","pp.internet" or "ppbundle.internet"
APN:pp.internet ( ppbundle.internet)
APN name:internet
Modem Dial : *99#
Username: web
Password: web

Have a try with the above settings, and let me know how you get on.
