I have tried to install all the windows software that is on www.vodafone.co.uk/latestsoftware. When I try to install it about 3/4 of the way through it says 'Rolling back action' and uninstalls it.

My OS is Windows 7.

Please help.

Hi bigboyfinn2,

Welcome to the Vodafone eForum from all for the team.

I have tried to click on the link provided and can’t seem to see the page which you are refereeing to however I believe that it is this page.

Can you confirm that it is version 10.2 of VMB that you are trying to download?

Looking at the read me file for the download I can see that this is compatible with windows 7 however it won’t work with Windows 7 NDIS 6.2

Can you confirm what version of windows 7 you are using?

Also have you tried completely removing the VMC/VMB software from your PC?

James

I can comfirm that I am tring to install version 10.2 and I have windows 7 service pack 1 if that helps.

Thanks

Hi bigboyfinn2,

Thanks for confirming that.

As James mentioned, this may be being blocked by a previous installation. If you check in the Control Panel under "add or remove programs", are there any records for Vodafone software still listed?

Also, have you downloaded the installer and then tried installing the same file repeatedly? If so, I'd suggest deleting that downloaded file and redownloading to remove any chance it was corrupted. Alternatively, if you're trying to run the install straight from the link by clicking to "run" rather than "save", then try saving the file to the PC and then opening manually.

Finally, do you have a security setting in place, for example on a firewall, which may be blocking the install from communicating with the server? You can generally tell as the install would stall whilst waiting for permission to be granted for access or permission to amend the computer files, and a separate window would usually be triggered.

Dave

I have managed to successfully complete the installation, but when I try to open 'Vodafone Mobile Broadband' it comes up with what is in the attached file.

Hi bigboyfinn2

Thanks for your post here. I’m sorry to hear that you are still having problems with this.

I’m afraid this is a little bit above and beyond my knowledge. The error message, (If you Google the first part) is something to do with missing files and the .NET framework. Your best bet would be to speak to an independent I.T. specialist for further advice with this.

Alternatively, try a full uninstall and reinstall to see if the files will copy across correctly.

Let me know how you get on.

Thanks
