Hey paulog and Rone383,
I've currently got an open case about this and am actively investigating as I've seen more examples and have experienced this myself.
To this end I've just emailed you both. If you could reply with the requested details and a few examples from the last 72 hours then I can add you both to the case.
Cheers,
Lee
NB - Please include the following details in your reply along with the requested information:

I'm experiencing the same issue.
I've called customer service to no avail who advised i swith the phone off and back on every few days - not helping!!
It does seem to be tied to one location though and doesn't appear when I'm elsewhere.
I've not got VM active, and it also occurs when 3G is disabled. I have an iPhone 4.
Any help would be great.

im beside myslef with this problem also.
have rung up about more times than i can remember now and have tried all the checks, voice mail off, 3G off, ive had a new sim card and have now been sent a new phone. It still happens.
I have a friend who is on orange and whenever she tries to call me, all i get is a missed call notification. It doesnt matter what my location is. this also happens randomly with other people. I have a full signal at home and yet the poor tesco driver the other day who was lost coudlnt get hold of me as every time he called me it went straight to voicemail and i got a missed call.
Ive told customer services that the new phone hasnt solved this and they are sending out yet another new phone. Im not convinced this is going to solve it though.....

After some tracking work (you need to log call times and numbers) the vodafone engineers fixed the issue and I have had no problems since.
As far as I understand this is a network issue, nothing you can do about it. Just try and use this eForum to get the attention of one of the tech-guys, they should be able to sort it, especially Lee if he is still on the board.
Hope This Helps Rone383

Hi barleybob and welcome to the eForum
Thanks for your post here. I’ll send you a private message over that explains how you can get in touch with us directly. If you could ask you friend who is on Vodafone to use this to contact us we’ll be able to look into the problem for her.

Hello,
I am having exactly the same problem which is becoming very frustrating. I have phoned Customer support multiple times and each occassion have been told that it is due to maintenance on a nearby mast. The last time I phone I was told it was due to maintenance on a mast 50 miles away!
This only appears to happen when I am at work (EC4R 3XX) and has been happening for some months. I have tried replacing my sim card but this has not helped.
It *appears* to only happen when 3G is switched on but I don't think switching off 3G (as suggested by one of your customer service staff) is a good solution. I also have issues with connection to the internet not working even when I have a full 3G signal; the signal will then suddenly drop out.
Can you please let me know how I can resolve this.
Thanks,
Mark.

Hi, I'm new here so bare with me.
i've been having problems of this sort as well for a few months. It happened last year aswell but it seemed to get fixed before christmas and its now been back for about 3 months. My phone either says i'm out of range or that i have full signal but it never wants to make calls. It just beeps and drops the call without ringing even when i have full signal. It has happened in many places around london, mainly at my uni (N7 8DB) and at home (W2 2NP) but has also happened regularly at leicester square. As soon as i come into a 4 block radius from my house the signal will drop as if we were in the middle of nowhere. It will start working again if i set my phone to airplane mode and the turn it off. sometimes it takes a few tries but it will bring back the signal for a few minutes.
Text messages take a few tries to get sent and i dont receive others for hours. When people call me, it usually send them straight to voicemail and i dont get the message until the next day. The service has become so unreliable that i have obtained a pay as you go from another company for emergencies.
At first i thought i was my phone as i had just done a software update but then my brother had the same problem and my boyfriend as well. We all have HTC so we suspected it was that but then my parents who have IPhones and a friend who has a samsung began complaining about the same problem. My sister is the only one who does not have this problem as she is with O2 and the rest of us are with vodafone.
We have tried changing sims and have complained multiple times to our local vodafone in edgware road but they dont do anything. they just say they will investigate but nothing gets done. This is getting very tiring and we are now considering changing to O2 as it seems to be much more reliable. We would like to stay on Vodafone as we have a family plan here.
please can you help?

Hi markbaz and welcome to the eForum
Thanks for your post here. I’m sorry to hear that you are having problems with this. I appreciate how frustrating this must be for you.
I’ve had a look at the local site in your area (866) and can see that it is an extremely busy site. The problem you are encountering is due to the high amount of traffic going through the site that is causing congestion.
There are a couple of sites that are planned in the near area that should alleviate some of the issues with this site.
The best thing you can do in the mean time though would be to switch to 2G on your handset.
Thanks
Hi Puerkz and welcome to the eForum
Thanks for your post here. So that we can trace which cell sites you are using I’m going to send you a private message that explains how to get in touch with us.
Once you’ve got in touch we’ll be able to find the specific cell site causing your issues to see if it is a congestion issue or underlying problem.
You can find your PM inbox here
Thanks

Wayne,
I'm not sure switching off 2G is a good solution, it kind of defeats the point of having a 3G capable phone. It seems to me that Vodafone's network is at breaking point in the city of london and has been for some time. I very much regret entering into a new contract with Vodafone and I certainly will not be recommending them to anyone who works in this area. I know a number of my friends and collegues feel the same way.
If this continues, the problem with too many users on the vodafone network will resolve itself naturally.
Regards,
Mark.

To stop calls diverting straight to voicemail on iPhone 4: Go to dialler keypad. Enter ##002# then hit the CALL button. You should receive several messages. Dismiss them. Your phone should now ring when someone calls you, and should stop diverting calls to voicemail. Hope this helps.

I am having this issue to in NN11 and OX16. I have tried all the various things mentioned above but still not working properly.
This is after having no network at home for 3 weeks over April and May. There is a lot of issues with Vodafone and I can't say I'll be in a hurry to renew my contract next time around... after 12 years, this is the most problems I have had within a short space of time.
Not impressed.
