Re: GU35 - Bordon - No Network

I expect the usual will happen, namely we will still be charged for a full month's "service".... This has been going on for ages now. After 11 years it's network change time I think.

What is happening in the Bordon area? No reasonable explanation and the third day the signal is down! Come on Vodafone please get your act together and sort it out.

Re: GU35 - Bordon - No Network

Hi Guys,

Thanks for your posts here and I’m sorry for the inconvenience that you are experiencing with the problem at your local site.

I have taken a look at the case as mentioned earlier in the thread and can see that due to access issue, we have not been able to access the site to do a full diagnostic and repair.

I can see that we have managed to get this booked for Friday where an engineer will be out to the site, unfortunately I can’t say for sure that this is when the fault will be rectified as this is beyond the control of the eForum team.

James

Re: GU35 - Bordon - No Network

Clearly its the difference between us paying our bills in order to get a service, and Vodafone failing to pay their bills in order to get access to the land.  Another phonecall to the 01635 number tomorrow, which wont finish until I'm compensated or freed from this completely ridiculous 'provider'.

Re: GU35 - Bordon - No Network

I have just posted this on the facebook site. Vodaphone UK.

Please try to help people in the GU35/34 area. This is a military town and the network has been down for several days. Aside from the army not being able to recieve and send important communications from their families local business is now suffering for what is now the 3rd serious network failure in the last 6 months. I am aware that the mast is on the Longmoor Ranges, so the fact that access is now being stated again as a problem is completely unacceptable, they have had months to resolve this problem.

The media will be interested in this, as will government because of the military connection.

Re: GU35 - Bordon - No Network

So, I think we need a media campaign now.

Please encourage as many people as you can to share their problems with not being able to access their phones, whether that is in the military community or the business community, or as families trying to stay in contact with eachother, I missed crucial texts from my son yesterday, and that was a real worry.

Please encourage everyone to post on this site, with their experiences and then we can send the entire thread to the media, the government, and well why bother! the executives at Vodaphone, who are happy to take vast payments for imprisoning their customers in long term contracts and then fail to deliver a service.

I have already contacted some media, but the more evidence that there is of distress , here, the sooner the problem will be resolved.

Oh and these posts are being copied.

Dear James from the Tech Team. There are no access problems to the local mast in Bordon, what are you on about?

Instead of looking at a computer screen why don't you talk to the engineers on the ground and give some proper feedback!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Re: GU35 - Bordon - No Network

For Info

The mast in Bordon is at the top of Chalet Hill behind the Job Centre. There is easy access, even a small car park right next to the mast and hut.

You can see all the locations at this website http://www.sitefinder.ofcom.org.uk/ Click on the map and type in your postcode

The mast in Greatham is OK as I was there today and had a good signal.

They probably cant get access because they have not been paying the rent as per last time.

As we speak I am writing loads of letters to the following bodies:

OFCOM

WATCHDOG

OFTEL

THE SUN

LOCAL RADIO

LOCALTV

CEO AT NEWBURY (though that will probably be a waste of time)

VODAFONE - I suggest you better look at raising money elsewhere because when the people's contracts are up, Bordon will be VODAFONE FREE. (and thats ALOT of people you will be losing).

Just a shame a large company in this day and age in the middle of a recession couldnt give 2 hoots about its customers. If my company operated in this way I would go under.

OH, and thats not all Bordon people, Guildford is the same at the mo, and internet has been hit and miss for the last 2 weeks now.

I URGE ALL PEOPLE TO WRITE TO ANYONE AND TRY AND GET THIS IN THE NEWS.

It will not get us anywhere, Vodafone do not give a ######, but at least we will feel better.

Re: GU35 - Bordon - No Network

What email address are you guys using to get through to the CEO?

This is nothing short of taking the ###### now.  This isn't service! We're paying for nothing. Paying for no signal, and abismal quality of customer service.

Re: GU35 - Bordon - No Network

You cannot email the CEO you can write to them at their head office in Newbury or call them up (see page 2 or 3 on this thread for the number.

It's time we stood up to these imbosiles

Re: GU35 - Bordon - No Network

Me and my partner are on vodafone and have not had signal for 4 days now! This is ridiculous! Vodafone needs to compensate their customers for the lack of service provided. We are paying for a product which is not being supplied!

Is this how you treat your customers after years of loyalty!

PLEASE SEE BELOW THE LIVECHAT COMMUNICATION I HAD EARLIER. MY CURRENT SITUATION IS THAT I AM UNABLE TO ACCESS MY ONLINE ACCOUNT AS THEY ARE EXPERIENCING PROBLEMS BUT TO CONTACT THEM. NOW THE THING IS I WOULD CONTACT THEM IF I COULD BUT THE SIGNAL HAS BEEN DOWN FOR 4 DAYS NOW (THIS IS THE 4TH OCCURRENCE IN 6 MONTHS!) I BELIEVE THE SERVICE IS DISGUSTING AND THAT COMPENSATION FOR THE LACK OF SIGNAL IS REQUIRED.

You are now connected with Hardikkumar.

Hardikkumar: Hello, you're chatting with Hardikkumar, one of Vodafone's online sales specialists.  May I take your name please?

You: Yes my name is helen alson known as an angry vodafone customer! I am unable to get a signal on my phone and havent for the past 4 days! my post code is gu35 0hu. also i am unable to log in to my account online as it says your experiencing problems and to contact you which i would do if my phone was working with a signal!!!

Hardikkumar: Hello Helen :smileyhappy:

Hardikkumar: I am sorry to hear that you are having network problems.

Hardikkumar: I would love to help but I'm afraid I don't have access to customer details due to security reasons.  However I can transfer you to customer service who would be more than happy to help.Is that ok?

You: yes thank you

Hardikkumar: Sure!

Please wait while I transfer the chat to the appropriate group.

You are now connected with Farzeen.

The chat session has been closed by your Vodafone representative.

Well, that just about sums up Vodafone. I have just contacted BBC Watchdog. The more people that contact them the better. I want out and will be seeking legal advice on the matter. Enough is enough
