The voda signal which has always been exceptionally good on the Isle of Wight has been poor now for two to three weeks. I work from home quite a lot and now rarely have a signal downstairs. My wife and son who are also voda customers with an iphone and HTC are experiencing similar problems, as is my colleague at Shanklin. I have today missed two important work calls due to this problem. Can you please give me an estimated date when the signal will return to normal. Regards David

Vodafone have today said that they will provide me with a “Sure Signal” as well as compensate me for the days that I was unable to use your services completely. Can you therefore advise me when you anticipate services are resumed completely?

Thank you Wayne
I live on top of a hill which is 52 meters above sea level, and from my upstairs window I can see for miles which includes across the Solent to the mainland.
I midnight last night there was no signal whatsoever upstairs or in the garden. Nor again at 8.00am this morning.
I have borrowed a 15 year old message pager as stop gap for my business.
Can you please tell me
a) When coverage will be restored and
b) When the vodafone sure signal will arrive
If you can't answer both of these questions can you ask your manager to call me please. He may have to ring my landland.

Hi there Knights12,
Thanks for your post.
Unfortunately we can't give you a timescale as to when the service will be restored. Some frequently asked questions about why we can't give this information can be found here.

Lee Thank you for your response, although it is less than satisfactory that you cannot estimate how long in days or weeks it will take to restore a connection to my area.
I have put on hold my direct debit, and will restore that when you can give me some indication of when you are likely to meet your contractual oblication to provide me with air time, as per our business agreement.
I shall print this pop in to the store with it tomorrow and collect the VSS as you suggest, although your colleague did tell me it would be sent to my home address.
Can you please furnish me with your surname as your post will forms part of the continued saga that I am documenting.

At various times of day I have an SOS signal in the corner of the screen, and no signal. The signal then returns fully without me changing location, and then an hour or two later disappears again.
The longest continuous period of time is about an hour. I have noticed at 0800, 0900, various times of the day then again in the evening.
I live about half a mile from the defective mast, which Voda tell me is the one at Palmers Brook.
I was reassured yesterday that the fault would be repaired by Saturday morning as this is when the 72 hours concludes. Can you confirm this is the case please.

Thanks for your post here. I’m sorry to hear about the problems you have been having with this. I appreciate how frustrating this must be for you.
The site looks to be up and running (obviously this may have been when the site was up). So that our engineers can look at the logs, can you note down the times at which the site goes out of service and when it returns? We’ll need a couple of examples with 72 hours. If you can then email this information to us using the method you used when we PM’d you, we’ll be able to provide this information to our engineers.

I am in East Cowes PO32 and for several weeks I have had almost no signal but today at best I have had 1 bar but most of the time it has been zero, I certainly cant make a call as it terminates as soon as I try and texting it just sits there trying to send. I know I am am not the only one with this problem as I have friends using Vodafone experiencing the same difficulties. Please provide an update on why we are having this problem and when we can expect the service we are paying for to return.

I also have had very intermittent or no signal on my phone for the last couple of weeks in PO33 4DL area. The signal is not great at the best of times but lately phone displays 'no service' and text messages that are being sent to me in the evening, don't arrive until I leave the house next morning on my way to work when the signal improves. My husband's phone (also Vodafone) is experiencing the same.
Can you please provide an update as to the reason for the poor signal and a timescale as to when this might be rectified? I had read in the Newport, Isle of Wight store that Vodafone were improving signal strenth in the area a couple of weekends ago, but since this the service I have received (or not as the case is) has been terrible. If the poor signal continues I am going to have to seriously consider changing provider as I rhave to rely on my phone for work.

Thanks for your post. Please could you confirm your full postcode so that I can see which site you're connecting to?
Thanks for your post. Your serving cell site is 31292 and there are no faults listed at present. I've checked the site stats for this evening and it appears that everything is working as normal at this particular site, and isn't one of the sites that we've been aware of that has had a fault.
However, as it's in the PO33 area I'd like to raise this into our service support team and we'll require some additional information that we're unable to request here on the eForum. I've sent a private message with details of how to contact us directly.
You can find your PM inbox here. If you can't access this link, please ensure that the box next to "Turn on private messages" is ticked on this page, and let us know if you need any further assistance.
