4G data connections slow, then stop working all together.

1) Does the issue happen in just one location?  4G is intermittent around this post code. Currently has dropped to 3G only

2) What is the full postcode (e.g. ST1 1AA) of where the issue occurs? G2 7NP

3) Does the issue occur if you try your SIM card in a different phone? not able to test

4) What errors are seen or heard when the issue occurs? 4G continues to be displayed on handset, yet no data connections can be made (apps stop working, eg Safari, FB, instagram)

5) Does this happen on 2G, 3G, 4G or all? 4G, turning on airplane mode and waiting for a while before turning off reconnects to 3G

6) When did you first notice this issue? around 14:00 9/3

7) Is the issue permanent or intermittent? If intermittent, are there certain times of the day when it occurs? intermittent - usually between 10-4

Hi

Your masts show as no issues.

Have things worked ok in the past ?

Has anything changed recently such as upgrading ?

When you commute away from your local area do things return normal?

If so then it would be beneficial to borrow someone you know phone and test it or your local Vodafone store may let you try your dim in one of their in house phones.

If.it continues then they can as a last resort perform a dim swap which is a process to move your tariff and mobile numberto a new dim card.

@middrich - I’ve checked your postcode and your local site (1711) looks to be performing fine.

Is this coverage drop only happening indoors?

If you change your network settings to 2G and 3G only, does the service remain steady?

The drop only happens indoors yes, however I am by a window where 4G has been available since I began the contract. The 3G service seems stable, have not seen it drop out since 4G was lost earlier. There is significant construction happening in the area (new 10 story building being built opposite) could this be interfering?

@middrich - Construction work in an area will often interfere with the coverage you receive.

This could be due to the machinery, the building materials, or once completed, the new building blocking the signal you previously received.

It certainly sounds like this will be the reason for the 4G drops you’re experiencing at the moment.
