Re: CH47 - Wirral

I have had last months line rental refunded GinaK but no offer of anything else. A sure signal box would be of no use to me anyway as I have no landline to attach it to! I rely on my mobile phone, so the refund is nice but not the solution I want!

Re: CH47 - Wirral

True, it will only be of use to those with a landline. I'm just wondering what the situation will be with the imminent staging of the Women's Open Golf Championship at The Royal Liverpool Golf Club in Hoylake......can you imagine all the potential VODAFONE customers attending and finding out that they can't use their mobiles! Should be fun.......

Re: CH47 - Wirral

I BET it is sorted by then - negative publicity is not good after all! No Vodafone service in ch47 during the Womens Golf Open would not be good indeed!

Re: CH47 - Wirral

I have at last received a very informative telephone call from VODAFONE in response to my email to Guy Laurence, the CEO. The signal problem is due to a "dispute" between VODAFONE, the local Water Authority here and the Landlord of the land on which the Market Street, Hoylake mast is sited. This dispute has meant that access to the land by VODAFONE engineers to repair this fault has been denied by the Landlord. Although the lady I spoke to was extremely helpful and sympathetic, VODAFONE cannot provide any time line in which they expect this issue to be resolved. It really is a case of 'how long is a piece of string', but hopefully this update will at least assist eForum users in any decisions they make.

Re: CH47 - Wirral

At last, some light shed on problem in our area.

Seen as the problem is due to something out of our hands, and seemingly out of the hands of Vodafone, surely we have a case now of getting out of our contracts without having to pay the contract off or incurring any charges. This will enable us to move to a provider who can provide us with the service we are paying for.

If this had been explained to us earlier on maybe we would have been more sympathetic!

Also why on earth have we been advised to buy Sure Signal boxes under these circumstances??

Re: CH47 - Wirral

We know that, that's the only update that we ever seem to get! If it is as I have been told by your CEO's staff, a dispute between VODAFONE, United Utilities Water and the Landlord of the site on which the mast is situated, please can you answer the following: 1). Does the VODAFONE Agreemment with the Landlord not include a clause in relation to access to the land for vital repairs? 2). Surely if the Landlord has been paid an agreed sum for the use of the land by VODAFONE, either as a one off payment, followed by regular "rental" fees......your Legal Department must have covered an eventuality of this nature in the Contract. If not, why not? 3). VODAFONE are a multi-billion pound, world-wide Company........are you really expecting us to believe that after 2 MONTHS you are still no nearer to a solution.......what about something as simple as footing the bill to United Utilities as part of a NO LIABILITY ADMISSION payment just so that you can at last gain access to the site for these vital repairs..........surely their Invoice will not cost as much as the Customers you are going to lose over this fiasco? Or are your Customers in the CH47 area of no value to VODAFONE - because that is the impression you are giving us. I still cannot believe that in this day and age you do not have someone in VODAFONE who still knows how to use something that nature provides......common sense and a bit of lateral thinking!!

Re: CH47 - Wirral

right I am on Live Chat with support as the moment I was just on to ask if I would get a line rental refund do to the ongoing service problems.

I have been told "the tech team have confirmed that the site is working excellently now" and this means "there is a problem with the SIM card" I have been offered a new sim which will apparently solve my service problem and allow me "get all the services perfectly"

I asked if this was the issue for all the people in CH47 and why the tech team has not updated the forum and have been told I can "be assured the problem has been fixed now"

CAN SOMEONE AT VODAFONE PLEASE CONFIRM IF THE PROBLEM IS RESOLVED, IF THE SITE IS WORKING NOW AND IF THOSE OF US WITH ONGOING PROBLEMS JUST NEED REPLACEMENT SIM CARDS????

Re: CH47 - Wirral

OMG scrap that - pushed a bit further as to whether a new sim would solve all our service problems and I was told NO! There is STILL A PROBLEM WITH THE MAST, but we can be assured they will solve the problem as soon as possible.

I mean come on VODAFONE - CAN YOU COMMUNICATE PROPERLY WITH EACH OTHER PLEASE!!

Re: CH47 - Wirral

Don't get too excited.......but Facebook is awash with status updates announcing that VODAFONE customers in CH47 are currently cherishing 3 and sometimes a wavering 4 bar full signal. I've just checked my phone and its true, I've got 3 bars! Hopefully this will be permanent and we can at last close the door on this very sorry episode.

Re: CH47 - Wirral

I too finally have a singal - not getting too excited though has this has happened once before. I also spoke with VODAFONE today and they said the issue was ongoing and there was no resolution time. So make all the calls and texts you need to now while we have a signal, and fingers crossed someone has pulled their fingers out of their bum to sort the problem!!

Re: CH47 - Wirral

Hi evemose and GinaK

Thanks for letting us know that you're getting 3G service on your phones again, that's great news :smileyhappy:

I've checked the case notes and incident reference for the site and as yet it's not been confirmed as resolved so I wouldn't like to commit at this stage that the coverage will be fully resumed. As soon as it's confirmed we will be on to update you.

Thanks

Simon

Re: CH47 - Wirral

Hi Simon, Thanks for the update, and for being honest about the current status. So far so good, I'm at home and have still got a 3 bar signal and this morning I was able to make a call to my daughter without losing the signal and connection, Fingers crossed that it's permanent and normal service has been resumed. Re: CH47 - Wirral

Can any one at Vodafone confirm that the problem is resolved or are we going to be faced with a loss of signal again soon? thanks
