Re: Cell Site Fault Reporting

Hi dave777,

Many thanks for getting back to me.

I have taken another look at this for you and can see that the 3G coverage does drop of a little where you are due to you being on the edge of a good to patchy 3G area.

Due to this it is possible that you may see fluctuations of signal being available during peak times as more people use the service causing the coverage area to shrink and causing you to only being able to pick up 2G signal.

Can I ask if this is the same during the day (weekdays)?

Re: Cell Site Fault Reporting

Hi.

thanks for your reply.

Up until a week age I never had problems, even at peak times. I guess it's possible that demand has suddenly increased, but there were problems over the weekend and again during monday morning- which does not suggest it's a peak time issue.

I am aware of peak-time cell shrinkage - and have experienced it with another operator and that followed a fairly regular pattern (weekday evenings from 8pm were worse) - but this problem does not seem to be following that pattern.

Thanks.

Re: Cell Site Fault Reporting

Hi there I live 50m from mast at cw4 8by and usually get full 3G signal. Last two days full 2g but no 3G. This is the same for all users in the house (4 iPhones 1ipad). Please could you investigate? Many thanks. Julian.

Re: Cell Site Fault Reporting

Hey Squireblackden,

Thanks for your post.

Due to the nature of the post I've not checked 2G but have focused on 3G for you :smileyhappy:

The site that serves your area is referenced 35235 and as you say, it's not too far away from you. I've checked and the stats appear to be ok right now. There are no open cases either. Can you confirm this is still an issue for you?

Cheers,

Lee

Re: Cell Site Fault Reporting

Thanks for your prompt reply. Yes I'm sure that is our mast but we still seem to have the problem. Was out and about today and got 3G elsewhere so I don't think it's the device. Would appreciate further investigation Thanks.

Re: Cell Site Fault Reporting

Still no change. Again whilt out today in Crewe both phone and iPad on 3G but firmly stuck on GPRS at home. Please can we resolve this or else I shall need to look at terminating all out contracts and move to a reliable 3G supplier as it is vital for us running our Internet business (with less than 1mb landline broadband). Thanks.

Re: Cell Site Fault Reporting

Hi there Squireblackden,

Thanks for coming back to me.

I've checked again and the site is reporting some odd behaviour although there are no open cases right now.

I've emailed a colleague to have a closer look and will update you when I've had a response.

Cheers,

Lee

Re: Cell Site Fault Reporting

Hi again Squireblackden,

My colleague has come back to me.

He's restarted the site and it looks to have cleared any issues. Could you re-test for me and let me know how you get on?

Cheers,

Lee

Re: Cell Site Fault Reporting

Hi there, it's me again!

I'm afraid the cell at CW4 8BY is playing up again. Same problem as last time - GPRS signal but no 3G for 3 days. PLEase could you do whatever you did last time (I think you restarted it) so we can get some speed back!!

Many thanks

Fault on mast 35235

Hi there

I'm afraid our nearest mast to home, 35235, is playing up again. It's been 5 days now and we don't have a 3G signal. Normally full strength. We do have a 2g / phone signal.Postcode CW4 8BY

I've reported a problem on this mast before and it was dealt with brilliantly by Lee. I think he just restated the site and it went straight back to 3G.

PLease can someone take a look and fix?

As we live in the countryside our broadband to the house is terrible and we run an internet based business and rely on our Vodafone 3G connection.

Many thanks

Re: Fault on mast 35235

Hi Squireblackden,

Thanks for your post here.

I have taken a look at your local site (35235) and can see that it does look to be working fine this morning however; to make sure that this is the case I have flagged it over to our network teams to see exactly what is happening.

Re: Fault on mast 35235

Thanks for that. When we had the problem last time it looked ok at your end even when it wasn't. I'll check later when I get home and let you know.

Re: Fault on mast 35235

HI James

Not too happy here as we still have NO 3G signal at all at home. It really is difficult for us without it as we are trying to run our internet business. PLEASE can you get someone to take a look or restart the site. As I said before, last time we had this problem it all looked OK at your end but restarting the site seemed to fix the problem.

Many thanks

Julian, desperate of Goostrey.

Hi there. We've lost 3G again in this mast for over a week. Please can you investigate and restart as that seems to fix it.

Re: NEW Fault on mast 35235 17/12/12

Cw4 8by

1). Does the issue happen in just one location. If so, how far do you have to travel to regain service ? YES. no 3G at home. Works fine everywhere else.

2). What is the full postcode of where the issue occurs? If you don't want this showing on the forum, add it to your profile here. CW4 8BY

3). Does the issue occur if you try your SIM card in a different phone? YES. Issue is on all Vodafone phones and iPad

4). Are there any issues in your area already reported on the Faults Board? Not that I'm aware of

5). Does this issue happen on 2G, 3G or both? To check, go to the Help Centre, select your phone and then select "network". 3G

6). What errors are seen or heard when the issue occurs? CANNOT GET 3G

7) When did you first notice this issue? Over a week ago

8) Is the issue permanent or intermittent (If intermittent, are there certain times of the day when it occurs)? PERMANENT
