Re: DT11 - Blandford Forum

How long does it take for faults like this where seemingly hundreds of customers are affected?! It is not isolated cases, the huge proportion of the dt11 area is affected. It's not a signal issue since I can make outbound calls fine.

[ Edited ]

I'm still experiencing exactly the same issues as last week, can make calls but not recieve them, emails not synchronizing & no Internet connectivity.

[EDIT: I've just been informed that our Vodafone reseller believes the issue will take TWO WEEKS to resolve. Anyone at Vodafone fancies commenting on that statement? :smileyfrustrated:

Re: DT11 - Blandford Forum

Online customer services are also suggesting that the issue should be resolved 'within the next 24 hours'. I will believe it when my phone works again.....

Re: DT11 - Blandford Forum

Hi Guys,

Thanks for your posts here and my apologies for the time this is taking to resolve.

I have contacted our network teams for you and can confirm that the site is currently taking traffic however there is still a fault with one of the transceivers on the site which is causing reduced capacity on the site and some of the signal problems that you are experiencing.

An engineer has been assigned to repair the transceiver however, we don’t have any timescales as of yet.

James

Re: DT11 - Blandford Forum

Hi, I'm new to the forum and have never felt the need to complain about Vodafone service until now.

For over a week now, like everyone else, I have been having issues with my service.  I can send texts and make calls easily most of the time (even if it takes a fair few tries with the message failure message popping up!) however for the most part of last week I wasn't receiving text messages until the next day.  Now, while still very slow to be received, they are coming through a bit quicker.  However, most importantly is that I cannot receive any calls at all.  Neither can anyone that I work with and as a receptionist, it is vital that I can get hold of my colleagues when they are out of the office, which is very frequently!  When I do ring them it just goes to voicemail which is making the job difficult.  I was also in Bournemouth over the weekend and could not receive calls or access the 3G network there either, despite supposedly having full signal.

I have heard that it is something to do with improving the phone signal in time for the Olympics but Vodafone should have alerted everyone that would be effected rather than back tracking when we noticed an issue.  The problem has not been sorted out yet and it is unacceptable.  I do not think that the responses James has given in this forum are acceptable and they are full of tech gargon that is not useful to us.  Please, James, can you just explain to us very simply what the issue is and what you are doing to resolve it, as it is clearly a widespread problem in Dorset (as there are similar complaints and no direct answer in other forum topics) and not just an isolated issue.

Thank you.

Re: DT11 - Blandford Forum

After spending 2 weeks calling vodafone on a regular basis to tell them i cannot receive calls (about 80% of the time) and texts are being delayed, they have told me it must be my sim card and today have arranged for a new sim card to be sent out!! I had little faith that the sim card was the problem due to the fact that sometimes a call does come through to me, so i decided to have a look on this forum to see if any other people are having problems with vodafone in the Blandford area and was pleased when i found this thread!! At least I am not the only one fed up with having a useless network. But like everyone on here I need to know:

WHEN WILL THIS PROBLEM BE RESOLVED??????? I have been a vodafone customer for over 10 years but will move to another network asap if this matter doesn't get resolved.

Dear TECH TEAM - Please provide us all with a date as to when this matter will be resolved for everyone in the DT11 postcode?

Many thanks.

Re: DT11 - Blandford Forum

the problem is is that vodafone have now been left behind in blandford, o2 3 orange all have a transmitter bottom of town by tesco and top of town on blandford heights their signal is faster and far far superior 3g network all across town and very strong vodafone have 1 transmitter by the police station that is always having issues with the trees and once its down there are no transmitters to take up the slack, vodafone in the last 10 years have fallen behind and cant see them catching up for along time o2 orange are always gonna be far superior in blandford now im afraid so my advice go with one of them get out of you contract as i have done and choose a network that gives a dam

Re: DT11 - Blandford Forum

Not only am I having trouble with my personal phone but my Blandford based employers have a business contract with VF. Following words posted on my office manager's behalf:

Medium sized local company in Blandford with 40 handset users, can’t receive sales calls or support calls.  Intermittent texts and emails, only appears to be in local DT11 area. Ongoing problem for 2 weeks and Vodafone only just woken to the problem yesterday. Up until then and even now not much information from Vodafone and when they do give it, is conflicts with their last explanation.  Last update on the grapevine is that they installed some new high powered Nokia equipment 2 weeks ago that was signed off as operational that clearly isn’t.  They are now trying to resolve asap but don’t seem to be in any hurry.  No SLA or date for resolution yet; been advised that compensation won’t be forthcoming as there is a clause buried in their T’s & C’s that gets round this.

Now considering taking the hit on costs to cancel contract early and jump ship to other more reliable network!

Re: DT11 - Blandford Forum

I have complained numerous times, and constantly have to battle with customer services wanting me to reset this, change this setting etc on my phone. Its blatantly not my phone that is the problem, it works fine when i travel home to the BH area and of course there are numerous complaints from other Vodafone customers.

By my recollection this problem has existed for 15 days now.

Vodafone keep trotting out a standard response to my complaint saying they don't guarantee signal in any specific areas but go quiet when i point out that i have signal and can make calls and sends texts.

i've heard numerous excuses / reasons for the problems but have been given no estimated repair times. The lady i spoke to in the complaints department most recently seemed to indicate it would'nt be fixed any time soon, since she suggested i call when its fixed to discuss compensation, rather than accept an offer now.

Re: DT11 - Blandford Forum

if vodafone arnt fulfilling their contract by providing the service that was originally there you can get out of you contract for free i just did and i was 5 months into a 24 month contract as the service has lessened to no fault of your own i got out of it and now happily with o2s much stronger faster signal

Re: DT11 - Blandford Forum

Think I might look at leaving vodafone then. As dan3mitch said if vodafone arent providing the basic service I signed up to, I am hoping I can get out of the contract early without too much hassle and will then sign up wih O2.....will give vodafone till the end of the week then I'm off!

Re: DT11 - Blandford Forum

Apparently vodafone are aware of the issues associated with the cell site, it has been given a high priority and a team of engineers are at site trying to resolve. The issues are complex therefore no ETA has been given....
