Re: GLASGOW NETWORK ISSUES

Fixed you say? Still flakier than a chocolate bar that goes into ice cream.

Full bars 3G signal - no data. Switch 3G off and suddenly it works - just slowly.

Have rebooted phone etc. too.

Re: GLASGOW NETWORK ISSUES

Still have the same problems as st3ph3n - I would hate to think that this is the problem "resolved".

Re: GLASGOW NETWORK ISSUES

I think Tom will have to bring his little Vodafone phone to Glasgow and give it a bash lol

Then he will know what he has just said is rubbish!

I think Vodafone live in a fantasy land half the time, even the at the top of the compnay they tell you the network is fine all is in order when it's clearly not..

Who do these companys employ??  Pay pennies you get monkeys that rings a bell abit.  Can't wait till my contracts up they will get no more of my pennies and pounds, thats for sure.

Re: GLASGOW NETWORK ISSUES

Just to update this issue, I got a call from the director's office... whilst most of the time was spent discussing operational issues.  i.e. poor customer service issues, lack of information pushed to the customer etc

The final outcome of the call was:   The issue is still being investigated and ongoing and we hope for a resolution soon. There didn't appear to be any committment to a resolution soon.  If anything, they wanted me to do the legwork collecting data and such, which I think is a bit too far.

As I made clear on the phone, MBNL (who operate the combined Three UK and T-Mobile network) would have this issue resolved LONG before now and if need be, send someone out to do a drive-test.  The person that I spoke to at the director's office said that it was something that they were not willing to do.

The thing that is bizzare about this whole issue is that I am on a 30 day contract, I'm not even tied to stay with vodafone.

I did a bit of testing last night near the junction from Arygle Street / Buchanan Street (G1 3LB) and I was struggling to upload an image around that area and packet data was timing out around 20:30.

Re: GLASGOW NETWORK ISSUES

"Hi, yes, we realise that there's a problem, but we're unwilling to do anything about it because that would cost money. Why don't you, in return for our shocking and appalling service, go out and collect some data for us?  That way, the money that you're paying for data that you're not receiving - it can instead go into our director's pockets rather than being used to get a qualified engineer out to analyse and rectify the situation.  I'm sure this all makes perfect sense.".

Re: GLASGOW NETWORK ISSUES

It's worrying news that this doesn't seem to be a priority. The service is still terrible and Vodafone don't seem to be bothered. Very frustrating.

Thanks for your patience whilst we've looked into the network situation in Glasgow.

All sites which could have affected data speeds in the area have now been fixed and are operating normally. We're aware there are a number of people keen on further improvements to data speed and we're feeding this information back with a view to making further enhancements. As soon as we have any timescales on this, we'll let you know.

Tom, everyone saw it. Did you see all the responses saying the network isn'tworking? Or the post about the call from the Director's office to squawkbox saying they're still investigating?

Or does "operating normally" mean the same thing as "3G data is unusable and the only way to get data traffic is to switch 3G off on your phone"?

Re: GLASGOW NETWORK ISSUES

Tom your statement says:

"All sites which could have affected data speeds in the area have now been fixed and are operating normally"

However we are telling you that it isn't fixed. I mentioned exactly this on the 30th of July:

This suggests to me it is an additional fault rather than completely due the excess demand placed on it due to site 32520 being down.

Can you please get this escalated?  Don't take this "sit back and wait" approach to see if the fix to site 32520 resolves this issue.

I shouldn't have to do all this work as a customer!

So as I predicted, the fault with the cell site that was down had absolutely no impact on this issue whatsoever.

The most fundamental principles of courtesy, never mind good customer service, dictate that you should AT LEAST read the responses before posting, can you seriously not even taken the time to do that?

I can also confirm that 3G is NOT FIXED in this area, i visited our office in the affected area and could not connect through 3G.

Re: GLASGOW NETWORK ISSUES

I can confirm the issue is still ongoing: Queen Street station this evening. Connected to LAC: d5 CID: 30debd7 and on 3G the same issue continues.

Re: GLASGOW NETWORK ISSUES

I completely share everyone's frustration about this.  I am so annoyed at the customer service I have received as well - unbelievable.  When I asked today to leave vodafone I was told I wasn't able to without paying punitive termination fees becasue the faullt was not at my home address.  It's at my work where I spend more of my time - surely this position is ludicrous when we are talking about MOBILE phones!!

Has anyone had any success getting compensation for this or leaving vodafone without paying ridiculous termination fees?  Advice wouyld be very very appreciated

Re: GLASGOW NETWORK ISSUES

This problem is definetly NOT fixed!

I was going around Glasgow yesterday and data like facebook etc would not load around Buchanan Street and Gordon Street area.

Queen Street has been my main concern for along time!

I have been round the blocks with Vodafone with this issue!  They tell me its all ok or there is a problem but it is being fixed!  This is because their network cannot handle the amount of smartphones that are out there now.  Maybe a lack of investment in the network I think may be the case.

This is a reply I got from Vodafone as I keen tweeting @VodafoneUK on the issue so they told me to email about it from a link.  I got this replay.

Hi *******.

Thanks for you email.

We do now have a statement live concerning the 3G coverage in Glasgow.

In the cases of loss of service, we would only offer credits where there is a total loss of all services of 3 days or more. As you still had service in this area, and the handset was used daily, this doesn't fall under the required criteria for a line rental credit. I'm sorry if you feel you have been led to believe you are entitled to any further credits, but as a one off gesture, I have added a further £10 credit to your account.

You may see an improvement in the service now all the sites issues are resolved, and as per the statement, we are looking at ways to enhance the service.

Let me know if you've any further questions.

Regards

****

Web Relations Team

This company contiune to annoy me.  My handset may have been used but not at my work as it does not work there.  I can use the handset in places where the 3G works.  Even Vodafone has blamed my phone in the past for the problem wanting to send me a replacemet I said NO as it's not my phone thats the problem it's the network.

Whilst I am on the web on my home computer I am going to write to BBC's Watchdog to let everyone else know how bad a comapany we are dealing with and to warn potential customers NOT to sign up to Vodafone.

Re: GLASGOW NETWORK ISSUES

[ Edited ]

I agree 100%.

This issue is not fixed and data coverage is extremely poor.

I posted about this back in April and have noticed no improvement.

I just got off the phone to second line who do not acknowledge any fault in this area.

This is very frustrating and I feel the only option left is to leave for another network.

Re: GLASGOW NETWORK ISSUES

It is really bad this evening.  This issue is STILL ongoing.  Please fix it.

I cannot get any data at all on 3G this evening.  I am connected to site:  LAC = d5  CID = 30debd6  and I have been unable to get any data in the neighbouring areas (which cover G1/G2 and G4 postcodes in the past few hours).

Re: GLASGOW NETWORK ISSUES

Last week I decided to try the 'talk to our CEO' route per the link earlier in this topic which promises messages will be read and respond to.

Another Vodafone promise broken, at least theyre consistent.

I can serve my 30 day notice in a little over a week, hallelujah.
