Re: Coverage Issue - Fleet, Hampshire

Make that four now. Since last week. Sometimes briefly see if manage to get GSM then reverts to searchign for signal on my BB.

Works fine in London.

How do we get this sorted out? Is a real PITA when WFH.

Re: Coverage Issue - Fleet, Hampshire

Hi guys,

Going from the postcode in the original post, I can confirm that there are multiple sites (7711, 31753) in the area which rely on the same parent site towards Basingstoke for their network connection.

This site (ref 3641) is currently undergoing maintenance, and we're working to get this sorted so that both it and the sites "downstream" can resume full service as quickly as possible.

Dave

Please try the steps in our Network Troubleshooting thread.

If you are still experiencing the issue having completed these steps, post the template with your answers here and I'll have a member of the team get back to you ASAP.

Re: Gu51 - no signal for 5 days

1). Does the issue happen in just one location? It is local to my postcode   2). Does the issue occur if you try your SIM card in a different phone?  we have 3 phones on Vodafone - all are affected   3). Can you check your coverage here? Please bear in mind that this is only a guideline and can never be 100% accurate, particularly for indoor coverage. Chart suggests good coverage   4). Can you check our Faults Board, which contains all the mast issues we’re aware of.  there is an entry on the faults board Just saying you are looking at the performance of this site 5). Does this issue happen on 2G/3G or both. To check this, you can amend your phone's network settings, our Help Centre contains all the instructions, just select your model of phone and then select "network". No service on either 2g or 3G   6). What is the full postcode of where the issue occurs (if you’re uncomfortable with this appearing on the forum, then please add it to your profile by clicking “My eForum Settings” on the front page and then selecting “Personal Information” gu513nh   7). How far you have to travel to get signal approx 1 mile   8). Do you get any error messages/tones if you’re having problems with calling/texting No error messages

Re: Gu51 - no signal for 5 days

I agree - all the vodafone handsets in our house have seen signal drop from being available 90% of the time at a reasonable level, to less than 5% availability in the last week.

It is still going on - Essentially no signal capability at all.

What's happening?

Technically six days! Was out Thursday, so that is six full days. I get really annoyed by the admin here who's stock first response is to 'fill in the fault template'. It is stated in the first post that this is on YOUR faults board so you acknowledge that the antenna is down yet you are still seemingly blaming everyone's handsets! I commented on a post on this board a couple of days ago but that was so very helpfully appended to a three year old thread on the Apple board. Well done there.! I will be phoning up (when I can get signal) asking for a refund for the days its been out and cancelling my contract as quick as possible. At work me (and other colleagues with Vodafone) get barely any signal and laughable data rates, where others on Three or 02 get full signal and blistering fast data and this is in the middle of Farnborough! Not what you would call a blackspot on their supposed 'coverage map'. Think I may go to another network which gives me more for less money and an actual signal. But I guess that's what you get for 14 years service!

Re: Gu51 - no signal for 5 days

I was also without signal for 6 days in Fleet. Completely agree with you fellachap, Vodafone have just treated us with contempt here. Not bothered at all just kept referring us to this forum which they couldn't even be bothered to update. What a joke. I'm on business contract but that doesn't seem to make any difference to Vodafone either. Definitely leaving ASAP. Thought Orange was bad but Vodafone take the biscuit.

Re: Gu51 - no signal for 5 days

Hey guys,

Thanks for your posts about signal in the GU51 area.

I can see there was an outage but this site is now showing as resolved as of today.

With that in mind, could you all re-test for me please?

Cheers,

Lee

Re: Gu51 - no signal for 5 days

Still no service in GU51 or GU52 areas.  It worked briefly about 11:00 today.  Fault board shows fixed but this is not true.

Re: Gu51 - no signal for 5 days

Dear Voda team,

Surely you must have a service level agreement for this kind of significant outage. The majority of the town of Fleet has been without service now for 6 days. The fault ticket has no data and looking at other tickets on the link you directed us to, it never will be updated.

I, like many others, rely on my mobile phone for business calls and need to know if I need to work in an alternate location where I may get coverage. Changing my voicemail to say my phone's not working and checking it occasionally from a land-line is not a sustainable solution.

So do I need to arrange to work elsewhere for tomorrow, the rest of the week, the rest of the month? Any indication to the likely time it will take to fix this will be gratefully received.

thanks.

Re: Gu51 - no signal for 5 days

Signal briefly returned yesterday quite faintly, but today it's out again. This really is appalling service. I simply don't believe that vodafone don't know what's going on. Are they just trying to get us all to buy Sure Signal?

Re: Gu51 - no signal for 5 days

I'm in the Ancells Farm area, if I position my phone at just the right angle in my flat I may be lucky to send one email before I loose signal again... Been like this for a few days now...

Re: Gu51 - no signal for 5 days

On March 15th all signal vanished from my phone. Over the weekend it was unusable as I couldnt make or receive any calls or texts in the Fleet area. I am working in central London and the signal is fine there (although the 3G isn't great there either...). I notice that when I get to the Farnborough area on the commute home, the signal changes from a few bars to 'no signal' and it is like this in my house. (Occasionally 1 bar of signal will pop up but within seconds it goes again and aside from the wifi signal I get from my home, there is no internet connection either)

I phoned customer services yesterday (Tues 20th March) and they were unaware of any problems in the Hampshire area & seemed baffled at the problem. They vaguely mentioned something about a problem with 3G and suggested I turn mine off and stick to 2G.. But 1. I don't know how to receive 2G signal and 2. if i'm paying for 3G data on my iphone 4s, I shouldn't have to compromise this service.

Any information or updates on the problem would be appreciated.

Who do I contact for compensation?

Re: Gu51 - no signal for 5 days

I'm a Talkmobile customer which shares the same network.  I've had no service at home in Fleet since Wednesday last week.  This isn't good enough Vodafone!!  Why can't we be told when this fault is going to be fixed!?

Still nothing. Agree had some signal last night but nothing again tonight. Guess it will take another 7 days for anyone to go out and look at it. DISGRACEFUL!!
