Re: Very poor service - Manchester Area - Including M50

CHUGHES - you won't get any help here I'm afraid. You're in the same situation as me. The guys on this board would like to help but they can't because they can't access business accounts due to data protection

You'll have to phone your Vodafone business team who will be useless and tell you there's no problem, then when you insist that you speak to a manager they will all be in a managers team meeting. They'll say the manager will call you back but they won't.

And don't think you can go into the Sale Vodafone store for help because they'll tell you they can't make phone calls either.

Day 3 in the saga, and still unable to use the phone, and what do Vodafone use in their advertising;

Join for our network – stay for our extra services. We’ve long been known for the reliability of our network.

Laughable - certainly not anymore!

Re: Very poor service - Manchester Area - Including M50

its so frustrating isnt it, just wish vodafone would do something about it, todays technology surely they should be able to do something with it, maybe since i got the iphone this is why my signal has gone worse, but it seemed ok the first week, 500 quid for a phone and it does not work properly where you live go use it out of walkden and i at least get a signal, something is up with the walkden area but seems like NO ONE IS LISTENING  so annoyed. at least i now know im not on my own. cheers

Re: Very poor service - Manchester Area - Including M50

Hi airgirl999

It is clear to see the frustration in your posts. From reading your initial post it appears that since you have purchased your iPhone 4S the signal has deteriorated significantly. This may be down to a hardware error than the network if it is only since purchasing your iPhone. If you're within 7 days you could look at a handset exchange, or outside of this a repair under warranty at either a Vodafone or Apple Store.

I've checked the Faults Board and there are no recognised faults in the M28 area. You can find more information on network upgrades here - Vodafone Network Upgrades, Maintenance and Testing

If you're still encountering the problem in the area then please post back the templated details in the Network Troubleshooting guide and we'll investigate this further.

Thanks

Simon

Re: Very poor service - Manchester Area - Including M50

I'm STILL having problems.

1). Does the issue happen in just one location?

Yes. M33 area. Where I live & work.

2). Does the issue occur if you try your SIM card in a different phone?

Yes. Also happens on other peoples Vodafone phones (15+ handsets tried and failed to make a call)

3). Can you check your coverage here? Please bear in mind that this is only a guideline and can never be 100% accurate, particularly for indoor coverage.

We've never had a problem in this location for the past 6 years.

4). Can you check our Faults Board, which contains all the mast issues we’re aware of.

None currently active, although there was one earlier this week that was 'cured', but clearly it has not been.

5). Does this issue happen on 2G/3G or both. To check this, you can amend your phone's network settings, our Help Centre contains all the instructions, just select your model of phone and then select "network".

Both

6). What is the full postcode of where the issue occurs (if you’re uncomfortable with this appearing on the forum, then please add it to your profile by clicking “My eForum Settings” on the front page and then selecting “Personal Information”

M33 area. full postcode in personal info.

7). How far you have to travel to get signal

Works at the Trafford Centre, M41 7JA

8). Do you get any error messages/tones if you’re having problems with calling/texting

'congestion' when trying to dial out. People who try to dial in get 'no circuit'

Thanks Simon im not having a go at you, i know its not your fault im going to see how it goes i love my iphone and have waited a long time to get one, i think i was just so frustrated and i am also beginning to wonder whether the case could have an inpact on signal, i bought a diamonte one me being a bling girl, but im not sure whether a case can affect the signal, you may be able to answer this, the thought has just occured to me so im putting a different case on and trying it, i dont know but anything is worth a try i dont give up easy, anyway im sorry if i sounded off,, just annoying when you want to do something if your interested ill let you know how i get on after a couple of days trying a new case, thanks

Re: Very poor service - Manchester Area

Can't make or receive calls.. like a lot of people it seems

1). Does the issue happen in just one location? Apparently not reading this thread but i've only experienced it in one location

2). Does the issue occur if you try your SIM card in a different phone? Haven't got another handset

3). Can you check your coverage here? Please bear in mind that this is only a guideline and can never be 100% accurate, particularly for indoor coverage.

Should be exellent and usually is

4). Can you check our Faults Board, which contains all the mast issues we’re aware of.

No fault logged for my postcode

5). Does this issue happen on 2G/3G or both. To check this, you can amend your phone's network settings, our Help Centre contains all the instructions, just select your model of phone and then select "network". No idea

6). What is the full postcode of where the issue occurs (if you’re uncomfortable with this appearing on the forum, then please add it to your profile by clicking “My eForum Settings” on the front page and then selecting “Personal Information” M33 Area, personal information will have full postcode

7). How far you have to travel to get signal

Don't know

8). Do you get any error messages/tones if you’re having problems with calling/texting

Incoming calls play the first note of the ringtone and detect the incoming caller id (it's displayed)

Outgoing calls say "Error in connection"

Display shows full signal available

Text messages seem to be working

Re: Very poor service - Manchester Area - Including M50

I've been speaking to vodafone for that last 48 hours re Call Failure within the M33 area. Only last night was it diagnosed as a fault, with the service rather than my phone. It works ok outside the M33 area... no timeframe on issues resolution.

Re: Very poor service - Manchester Area - Including M50

Noodle, it's not a fault it's planned maintenance but Vodafone don't think they should inform their customers.

The Vodafone store in Sale told me it would be down until weekend. Weekend has been and gone so come on Vodafone, how long until we get back the service we're all paying for?

Re: no service in M16 area

Not only are the prices disgusting, (£5 for 250mb) but there has been NO SIGNAL AT ALL for the past week. Everything about this company is a joke. If you look at the offers and service of other companies, ( some flawed) it's almost like vodafone don't know the first thing about cellular service. Hopefully they will go bankrupt as every one switches network and nobody else can get messed around to this extent again. Wake up vodafone I could get better service with a coat hanger.

Re: Very poor service - Manchester Area - Including M50

Hi evryone.

Thank you for your posts.:smileyhappy:

I understand that this is frustrating as we depend on our devices, I have checked the local sites to the M33 area using the postcodes provided and can see that there are investigations underway on sites 1111 and 13109 under reference 2391554 and we hope to have these back up to full signal as soon as we can.

We will look to get these added to our Faults Board.

Many Thanks

Re: Very poor service - Manchester Area - Including M50 and M33

I live in the M33 area. My phone stopped working last Thursday and I went into Sale to the Vodafone shop to ask about it. They told me it was "maintenance" and printed off  a list for me to show the Post codes that would be scheduled.they told me that services would be resumed at the weekend. So far this morning the situation has not been resolved. I still have no phone service.

I am cancelling my service with Vodafone.

They knew ahead of time that their customers would be without service but instead of alerting us they left their shop staff to deal with the complaints.

I have not received an apology from Vodafone for my service outage by email or by text.

I have not received any offer of compensation from Vodafone for my service interruption.

I think their behaviour is  disgraceful.

Re: Very poor service - Manchester Area - Including M50 and M33

I work in M33 - Sale town centre in fact, and this problem started last Wednesday. Texts and Data work normally, but there is a connection error message with any voice calls.
The Sale Vodafone shop thought it should be resolved by this morning & had no further information this morning.

It works only a few hundred yards outside Sale town centre. The situation would be better if they just turned the transmitter off, and allowed mobiles to connect to the next nearest transmitter.

No voice calls for approaching a week in a town centre is not good enough.
