on my 6th phone in 4 months

i recently changed to vodaphone 4 months ago and got the xperia play which developed a fault and got sent a replacement then the same fault with the new 1 so sent that back in the end got it replaced with a new arc s well my 3rd arc arrived the other day after being replaced twice and this now has the same fault getting 2 hot and shutting down. is vodaphone just supplying rubbish phones? i am going to contact my local trading standards office to see if they can help me as i am fed up with this service now 6 phones in 4 months is just  ridiculus!!!

To be honest, you must have one of the most unlucky experiences in the world, I have had phones for the last 15-20 years, and only a couple of them have died after maybe 18 months,   Vodafone supplies phones from manufacturers.  I doubt trading standards would assist, if Vodafone is following the correct repair procedures for you.

sale of goods act. none of the phones have been fit for purpose 6 phones later and still i have a faulty handset!!

Hi Phil21,

 

bertyb doesn't work for Vodafone, but he is one of our regular posters here on the eForum.

 

As he mentioned, this is a very unusual and unlucky sequence of handsets, as this particular fault is not one which we have had widespread reports of with either handset. I'm going to pop you an email so we can get a better picture of what's happening and see what can be done to resolve this.

Today I have contacted my local Trading Standards office in worcestershire, and Consumer Direct, which is the part of the gov.uk site and deals with trading standards who were more then helpful unlike vodaphone. I think they have the power to prosecute. vodaphone have had more then enough chances to sort this out and now they have resorted to not repyling back to me. theres always a 20 miniute wait on 191 and emails just dont get replied to
