Yeah works great,

Set up and install this

Although I am sure it worked on the original email client that program is much better.

Well, it does not work if hotmail provides email, but you have your own domain....

You may also want to look at trying Profimail, much better client and a lot more configurable. It's not free but $20 isn't going to break the bank.

Hotmail For N97

i started using the new software, but what should i do with the old messaging software, i deleted the hotmail account and now the new softwrae works fine but the old one says create new mailbox. i know i still use the software for sms.

is that the same for every1. i could still have it linked to the same hotmail but then it will download messages from both software.

what do you lot do

p.s how do u install this on mass storage

Just ignore the old email client, it doesnt intrude anyway.
I dont think you can install it to mass storage. I thought i did as i do all installs but it is in c/: so dont think ya can. You can set it to store emails in mass storage though and that is essential.

Hotmail For N97

Hi JGE,

I wouldn't worry about the old software. It'll handle the SMS, as you say, but it's just like having two browsers on a PC - you use one, the other is just there.

There isn't an option to install to mass storage, I'm afraid, so it would need to be installed as normal.

Just to reiterate what we've mentioned elsewhere - when it comes to third party downloads we can't offer support and you do download them at your own risk. We don't necessarily discourage you recommending something as a possible solution as Daz9100 has above, but we have no information or control over the content. Of course, you may also want to check out the mobile email solutions we have on offer if you have any further email issues.

And Flagpole's correct, Hotmail has supported POP3 for close to six months now. I've had it linked to my X1 for some time - really convenient too!

P.S. Don't forget to register for Vodafone My Account - given the amount of our lives we run online these days, irt's a really convenient service - not just online billing by subscription, bar and payment management too!

STANNY08 have you been using it through pop3 or imap?

Nokia messaging does not allow me to set up an account with my own domain, but it does allow @hotmail, so is there a trick to how to set it up over imap or is it pop3 you are using?

p.s. if you are using imap what is the address for live.com ?

Thanks,
M

I see I can only edit post once here?

I've just read that hotmail does not offer imap. well too bad for them, I'm moving one of my domains to google, so I can have it on my mobile through imap.

Thanks anyway,
M

i presume hotmail will offer imap4 at some point. but yes the googlemail route is much better.

google now has some quite impressive options for importing contacts and messages form hotmail too.

remember with google yo0u have to enable imap and pop.
