This is getting beyond a joke, No one is taking ownership of this. The lack of communication and apalling customer service is a joke.

I have now contacted BBC watchdog who are very interested in this story and are asking for further details. I will be passing details of this forum on along with the lack of ownership and resolution.

Essentially Vodafone are currently breaking the law by not providing a valid unlock code and locking us into their network.

If anyone else receives any responses from Vodafone let me know as I will be passing these onto the BBC if I don't receive a resolution today.

The link I used to get the ball rolling is below.  It is a simple online feedback form; just fill in the details, and outline the problem.  It took a couple of days (not counting the weekend) to get the code sorted, but it seems to be the quickest way of getting an answer, and it shows Vodafone that there is a problem with this.

The call and email response did not come directly from Guy Laurence, but it did come as a result of the contact with head office.  I don't mind which individual deals with it, as long as the outcome is correct.  To reiterate though:  I shouldn't have to go to the head office of a company to get an answer to what should be a simple issue.

You're welcome user2517.  I made a slight error in my timetabling of events.  I actually received my call yesterday from the head office, not on Friday.  So it was quicker than I said it was.  You may receive a call in a day or two, and possibly get your code the day after the call.  Obviously, this is out of my control, it is just to give you a guideline.  It would be interesting for others to come back and let us know if they get a code, and if the code works.

Well Done Rishtongirl for actually getting somewhere....glad to hear you're phone is now unlocked.....just wish mine was....!!!!
This is the first time I've used Vodafoney...!!!!...and quite possibly the last because If this isn't resolved for everybody very soon then the Lumia will be going back...

Great news - are you able to help me get the correct code somehow?  I have been trying to resolve this since the 4th of March.

No disrespect to the guys in the call centre, who have done all they can, but it does seem like I am currently going round in circles trying to progress this.  I have been given the incorrect "pw" code several times now.

Although they have now escalated the issue I have been given no timescales as to when a new code will be provided.  And to be honest I'm not 100% confident I'm going to get a valid code.

Unfortunately the unlock team are still giving out duff codes for Nokia Lumia phones.  I got mine today in the wrong format (including the pw codes) which is obviously incorrect.  Not very happy at all - is there someone I can speak to directly rather than go through customer services who only pass on messages?

The unlock code database has now been updated for everyone to access so the codes should no longer be incorrect however, I have sent you a quick PM please take a look at this and I will be able to assist you further.

I've also been given a 15 digits code starting with #pw that I can't use on my Lumia 710. I'll appreciate if I can be given rather the 8 digit code to be entered after inserting non-voda sim. Voda tech guys, please PM me and I'll send you the reference and pw code that I've been given
