Hi

As a newbie  can someone help me with mms on my Nokia C3 as it stalls and I have a red exclamation mark next to the message when I check in sent.

Why wont it send the message? I am on PAYG.

I am getting frustrated as I believe in 'I do, I learn' and have followed the instructions from the vodafone/C3 how to set up MMS.

Hope someone can help!!!!!!!!!!

Hi,

By the sounds of it you've already done this first part but it's worth going through the WAP and MMS settings listed on here with a fine comb to make sure everything is in place and correct. There are slightly different instructions in parts when it comes to the pay monthly and pay as you go bits - obviously make sure the Pay as you go settings are used.

The above will make sure your phone is successfully set up for picture messaging. If it still isn't working then the next bit of troubleshooting would be to check the SIM card is provisioned for MMS and GPRS (internet) on the Vodafone network. You can't do this yourself so it'd be a quick check with customer services to make sure everything is in place and correct. It's also worth asking them to make sure there are no incoming or outgoing bars in place for MMS.

Some information it'd be worth you gathering / posting on here before speaking to customer services would be:

Can you access the internet on your mobile?

What happens when you try and send an MMS to your own mobile?

How big is the MMS you're trying to send? (there's a limit of approx 300kb on most phones)

Are you able to receive MMS from other people?

This information should hopefully help so we can all troubleshoot the problem and get it working

After you have checked the settings and if you are still unable to send MMS, please let us know and we can get this sorted for you, as it would sound like it is a provisioning issue on your number which is easily fixed.

I'm having the same problem here.

Got a C3-00 last week, after having problems with the wi-fi indoors I updated it to 7.20 from 4.60 as per the advise page

Wi-fi worked straight away - yippee !!!!

So I tried to follow the instructions on setting up the Internet, MMS, WAP as shown on the main page.  Email settings worked via the handset straight off

On the net and WAP setup instruction #10 says go to homepage - that doesn't exist in the menu list so I've ignored it and continued.  I've tried the internet and it works !!! - I can even read my emails from yahoo via WLAN or vodafone

But I followed the MMS instructions to the letter and it DOESN'T work at all,

I can't send or receive pictures of any size to myself or others, I'm still using the same chip which worked on my old phone for MMS.so I know theres nothing wrong there.

I've hard re-set, I've soft re-set

So 2 things

Vodafone - your instructions are out of date

Can anyone help me please sort out my MMS ???

Thanks for your post here. I'm sorry to hear that you are having problems with this. I can appreciate how frustrating it must be for you.

We use the same guide as you do so if they're out of date , I'm afraid they're out of date for us too. Don;t worry though, if you can post the exact settings that you have on your phone I'm sure we'll be able to spot what is incorrect and then forward this onto our online team so that the guides can be corrected.

When you say the settings - theres LOADS of them, I'll be here typing for days LOL

Any reason why Vodafone don't send out text messages to set the phone up like I got with my Razor that worked brilliantly

Hi Dragonracer

A very quick test for you - get someone to send you an MMS. If you receive a text message prompting you to visit www.vodafone.co.uk/getmyphoto then you need MMS adding to your account. If you get a download failed message or nothing at all then the problem lies in your settings.

I know its my phone settings -

trouble is as said above

the Vodaphone instructions are out of date compared to the nokia operating system.

Vodafone is asking me to add settings in menus that don't exist on the phone

that's why I can't complete the setup process !!!

I wish there was a way of trying ver 4.60 again !!!

hi there - I too am having the exact same problem.  There is no option 10 "HOMEPAGE" on the Nokia c3 phone so the problem is for me now I can't have WAP internet, and use say GOOGLE search out and about, the WLAN works fine and the browser works fine when using the WLAN

also I can not receive or send MMS messages ..... the settings are out of date and I am seriously getting annoyed with this spending £90 on a phone that cant WAP and CANT send MMS ?? please what is going to be done and what help can i get?

Settings do not go out of date but you will be able to configure your settings from the help page.

If you still have problems with WAP and MMS, Customer Service will be able to check your settings and advise whether MMS is provisioned on your account.

hi all am having reall problems setting up the mms and web on this phone this is the second handset and sim  and still the same problems  have done everything vodafone have said and nothing works   its driving me nuts  have even done a factory restore and tried everything again  nothing please please help

Firstly I would like to wish you a very warm welcome to the eForum.

Did you get the handset off us directly, as they will come already setup to work. Have you tried you r Sim card in a different phone to make sure the Sim is working correctly?

Have you tried sending the settings via text? The C3 settings via text can be found here.  Just select if you have a contract phone or pre pay phone and follow the instructions, hopefully this will resolve the problems you are experiencing.  Post back how you get on.

Ok may have cracked this one now, if the settings in my previous post don't work try the settings for the Nokai 6234 which can be sent directly to your phone from here.  They are both Symbian Series 40 devices and I have it on good authority that the 6234 settings resolve the issue.....although not having a C3 I can't say definitely, over to the users - let us know how you get on.
