N900 Broken AGAIN

Hi, I've got an N900 and it would seem this handset is not one of Nokia's best. The first one I had broke after about 3 months (USB socket came off the circuit board) and was replaced by Vodafone with a new handset, now this one has died. There are two faults, firstly it no longer detects my SIM card and consequently I cant receive or send messages or calls- have put my SIM into my partners handset and it works fine so its definitely the handset. I've cleaned the sim card and the sim contacts and still not working. Secondly the handset is no longer charging properly. As you can imagine this is very irritating.

I have looked online and it says I can upgrade early, however, the only handset and deal i'd be interested in is extortionately priced until 22nd January. Given that my contract is nearly up and I dont particularly want yet another N900 for 1 month is there anyway either of the following can be done: can I pay up my contract and have a PAC code so that I can get the deal i'm after or is it possible for someone from Vodafone to negotiate something of an earlier upgrade?

Re: N900 Broken AGAIN

A few options really - Visit a nokia repair centre (if its still in warranty then they will repair FOC), send the phone away for repair with Vodafone again FOC as long as you are still in contract unless they identify non warranty damage to be the cause.

Or if Vodafone will allow an early upgrade as you have said, this all depends how long you have left on your contract.

Re: N900 Broken AGAIN

Hi, thanks for the message. I have at most 2 months left on my contract and I think it is more like 1 month hence my reluctance to send away my N900 when it would be easier for both Voda and myself to get the upgrade, will see what a Vodafone web employee suggests if and when they get back to me!

Re: N900 Broken AGAIN

Hi mate, im not a moderator but probably can give you a lot better answer. call vodafone, arrange for them to send out a repair box and vodafone will not repair your phone but instead they will give you an nokia E7 which is worth more then the old N900.

No need to rate me, im not trying to score points.
