N97 Mini ringtone

I have my profile set to General, and I have set an MP3 for the ring tone but it keeps playing the flipping Nokia tune.

Sometimes a volume key appears on screen too when making a call and it woint let you make a call.

Please help

There is nothing you can do mate. Mine has been doing it since the beginning. People say move the tone to the c drive, or convert it to a different format, or even shorten the tone. None of it works. I have tried everything.

The mods say they are looking into it, but don't hold your breath. It is a known bug on the phone and even the new firmware (when voda pull their finger out their rear and release it) won't fix it.

Sorry to say m8, but you have to live with it.

N97 Mini ringtone

I reapplied the mp3 to the ringtone of the profile and restarted my phone, which seems to have fixed it for now.

Hi Vodaclifton,

The guys on here are spot on. This does seems to be affecting a few people and there are suggested workarounds as BigBadPhil has mentioned.

Although these may not work for everyone, I do recommend you give them a try as some people have found this really useful! :)

I’d also recommend you and BigBadPhil both try smithra’s suggestion too.

Let us know how you get on.

All the best,

Jenny

Mine kept doing this but since i started using the outdoor profile instead of the general one, my phone always rings with my chosen tone. You can edit the outdoor one so it works just the same as general. Fingers crossed this will work for everyone else too. Good luck!!
