I'm having a daily problem (and have been for some time) with calls dropping out. I'll be talking away, then the line will go quiet, and then the three dreaded beeps appear.
I've been monitoring my signal throughout the day side-by-side with my wife's phone (N95 8GB, also on Vodafone) and the reception on my N97 is definately poorer, when compared side-by-side.
This is just one of the daily issues I have with it. I can't really run anything on here without crashing the thing (the screen goes all multicoloured and fades to black) or it freezing on me (needing a battery pull to resolve....temporarily). I've stopped using the homescreen widgets, turned off the theme transitions and I'm very careful about running anything other than the built-in basic applications like messaging or Web. This makes it crash and get stuck once a day instead of twice or more.....but do I really own a smartphone anymore?
Can someone help?

The best thing I would suggest depending on your Firmware version would be to see if there is an update for your device, or possibly sending your phone for repair. It may be worth having a quick read of our Repairs thread here.
All the best

The latest version available for vodafone N97's is v20, v21 is about but not been released still by vodafone.
good luck getting your phone sorted

It may be worth having a quick read of our Repairs thread here.
It doesn't seem to indicate how long it would take, if I'm eligible.
There's one other question I have. In the past I've had 3 faulty N91s in a row (eventually it was swapped for a SE P990i) but during that process all I had to do was meet a courier at my front-door and swap over the phone. I can't really be without a phone for any period of time, so this was extremely convenient to me. Can I not do this again?

Many thanks for getting back to us, let me answer the questions that you mentioned earlier in the thread.
As Sukhi has already sent an email out to you, we will indeed asses this upon looking in to your account and taking it from there.
We will be back in touch as soon as we can.
