This post has been created in the hope that one of the Vodafone tech team is monitoring, and can assist.
I have two Vodafone monthly accounts. I replaced the phone on one of these and would like to use the old phone, which I purchased from Vodafone, with a non Vodafone PAYG Sim, as a backup. The problem is that the phone shows a invalid sim message when booting up.
I have searched both the Vodafone support area and this forum. I have seen that this has been a common problem with older phones, which were locked to the service provider's network.
I have attempted to complete the Unlock Code Request Form, however when entering #06# on my phone, to retrieve the IMEI, I get the response "unknown command" and, as this is a mandatory field, I am unable to complete the form.
Please assist.

Hi Mad Dog
Welcome to the eForum! It's nice to have you with us
.
The reason you're getting an unknown command is because you're entering the code incorrectly, you need to make sure you type *#06#
You will also be able to find the IMEI number on the back of the phone under the battery
.
Once you've located the IMEI, just complete the online NUC request form.
If you need further assistance, just give me a shout.
