Problems with unlocking N95

Hi there.

I have an N95 that I wish to unlock.

Vodafone sent an NUC Code, which didn't work - "Code Error"

I contacted Vodafone who said they'd email another - they did, and I receive the same error message.

I then called Vodafone, who stated that they would contact their 3rd Party who provides these codes. I then received a text message stating that the correct NUC Code for my IMEI had been sent to me.  If I couldn't unlock the phone, then I could send my handset to the following address, only to find that the address hadn't been given.

I have tried another SIM Card from O2 to test if the handset is, in fact, already unlocked, to no avail.

Questions:

I have had 2 NUC Codes, both of which do not work.  How does the sender of the text know which NUC Code is correct?  Or is it a case of generating a new one every time this is requested?

Can't Vodafone, or the 3rd Party, remotely unlock the handset?

What is the address that the text referred to, and will it cost me to post my handset?

Thanks in advance.

Re: Problems with unlocking N95

This should be able to be resolved by VF and I am sure it can be via the Moderators etc

Out with this I would check Nokia support for advice  Nokia Support

Re: Problems with unlocking N95

Hi,

As bertyb says it looks like one for the moderators to chase up if an address was missing from the email. I'd imagine if Vodafone don't have the NUC themselves they'd be getting it from Nokia.

From memory the Nokia code entry was always a bit confusing but if you needed any further help on entering the code when it's eventually provided then the below explains the different symbols etc. Good luck

Re: Problems with unlocking N95

Thanks for the responses.

I thought I'd post on here to see if a Vodafone Mod. could be of assistance, as you mentioned - I really can't be bothered going through the process again and again via the Call Centre.

Cheers.

Hi MILOS10000

Welcome to the eForum :smileyvery-happy: it is always good to see new faces on here.

I am sorry to see that you are having difficulties with trying to unlock your N95.

So that we can look in this, I have just sent you an email, if you can reply back to that with the relevant details we can see what is happening.

The phone can't be unlocked remotely so we need to make sure that the unlocking procedure is 100% correct for you.

Thanks

Martin
