Symbol on E72 screen

Could someone help me with this?

There sometimes appears a north facing arrow on the screen of my E72, when it is in standby mode.

Sometimes, it disappears--what's going on?

Regards

Re: Symbol on E72 screen

Hi,

What part of the screen does it appear on? e.g. top left, top right. Top left is where the signal strength and network connectivity is, so it's not unusual for this to change or update with symbols when it's pulling data from the internet (e.g. an email client) or if you're moving in and out of 2G / 3G coverage. Top right is the battery symbol which would only see a change if you've got the charger plugged in or the battery is low on power (below video gives the layout of where both of these are found on the phone).

The only other thing I can think of is possibly the GPS, though can't see reference to an arrow watching any of the videos on this on YouTube

Re: Symbol on E72 screen

It's right at the BOTTOM of the screen, dead centre.

An arrowhead, above a short bar with turned up ends.

Thanks

Have you any texts/emails stuck in outbox?

Re: Symbol on E72 screen

Hi sunfish,

This is not something that I have come across before, so I've taken a look on Nokia's forum. It would appear that this is to show that you have a missed call. If you go into your call log, then the arrow should disappear. I hope this helps.

@sunfish,

Pic of missed calls icon attached. If it's not that I'd check outbox.
