Trying to change handset

I have been speaking to Voda's customer sevice and via formal letter requesting to change my N900 for a different handset. I do not seem to be getting anywhere ![]()
My reent letter -
Nokia N900 Change Request
I am writing to request a change of handset. I am not looking to cancel my Contract with Vodafone as I feel that that over the years you have provided me with a good standard of service.
I am dissatisfied as my Nokia N900 was sold as a high end smart phone and not as Nokia’s experimental toy. I would rather have an iPhone4 / Android / Windows7 device which is less complicated, has many apps that are not available for the N900 and has MMS capability 'out of the box'.
There is also the problem that the N900 Maemo software doesn't keep pace with changes, for example most websites require the latest flashplayer which isn't available for the N900 (there is a temporary fix which fools websites into thinking you have the latest flashplayer, but this was a while being developed and as websites start to take advantage of the latest flashplayer capabilities the fix will cease to be of any use). Who knows when, if ever, we will get an updated flashplayer?
Vodafone always seem to be behind on the latest firmware versions. To keep up-to-date you are required to flash with the firmware provided globally by Nokia themselves.
The Ovi Maps voice-guided navigation (and Vodafone's sat-nav), are not available for the N900, and I doubt they ever will be. I know you can buy Sygic Maps but that's not the point. Majority of Nokia handsets have free voice-guided navigation and the Android handsets have Google's free sat-nav. Also, Google Maps street view doesn't work on the N900, but does on Android handsets. Nokia has stated in a massive campaign “free voice guided maps for all Nokia phones”! I didn’t see anywhere on the campaign banners anything about except for the N900 anywhere!
I get regular emails from Nokia telling me about the latest wonderful apps available from the Ovi store, but when I check them out guess what - they are not available for the N900!
I feel annoyed that I am stuck with the N900 on a 2 year contract when none of these problems were pointed out on Vodafone's website and I was not made aware of them either when arranging to purchase this handset.
As stated previously I am not looking to cancel my contract but just a change to the handset.
I look forward to hear from you.
As you can see i am not looking to cancel my contract (even willing to sign into a new one) i just have had enough with this device. The letters i do get back seem to think i am asking to cancel and advise me of the total amount i would have to pay to end early.
Also with the recent desicions by Nokia it appears that Maemo\Meego will not have much of a future.

Hi DJRedLine
Thanks for your post.
It's a shame that you no longer like your N900. You would have had a 7 day cooling off period, in which time you can experiment with the phone and get a feel for it.
I've sent you over an email, if you can reply back I can look in to what options available for you
