Hi all,
Do all new(ish) basic Nokia phones work abroad? My boss wants to take one of our contract phones to the USA for emergencies (already had pricing info. from our provider) and one of my colleagues says that not all phones used to work and that we should check first!
Can anyone help?
Tessie

Hi tessie31082,
Providing the phone is tri-band or quad-band, which the majority of new phones are, then it should be compatible with the USA networks, and providing that roaming is set on the number, you shuld be able to pick up a network, and make/receive calls etc on it. If you have the manual for the phone, it should state if it is Tri/Quad band.
The best thing to do would be to head over to the Nokia Website, search the model of the phone and click on "Full technical Specification", select HARDWARE, and it will tell you what bands it works on (listed under operating frequency). The USA networks operate on 1900mhz
Hope this helps
