No Mobile Data on your phone? : My guide.

Mobile Data Issues ?

 

 

When Mobile Data Connection fails or is intermittent there are a number of factors that can be attributed to this.

 

This is a series of Troubleshooting Steps I look to and that a person can take to self help before contacting Customer Services. 

 

These are the most Common reasons I've come across.

 

* Network Issues caused by Masts if happening in your local area.
* Use Vodafone's Online Network Mast Checker here.
* Turn the Phone Off and On to Reset it.
* Remove the Sim Card,check its seated ok & no dust is in slot.
* Mobile Data is Accidentally turned off in the phones settings.
* The APN's in the phone have been altered. Text WEB to 40127.
* The phone is at fault. Try the Sim in another phone.
* The Sim Card is at fault. Vodafone Stores can Sim Swap.
* If recently ported to Vodafone that stage maybe still settling.
* The Account needs checking. Use Live Chat or 191 to check.
* A recent Sim Swap can take 24 hours to fully settle.


* Bundle Data Allowance has been exhausted. {Even if Data Allowance has been exhausted, it is still possible to access the internet paying the daily charge or in the case of pay monthly, paying the extra charge for data. {Credits to AnnS}

 

"Re PAYG - if you have an available credit balance, the data won't cut off when your data allowance is exhausted, but £2 per 50MB per day will be deducted from your balance. The data only cuts off when your balance drops below £2." {Credits to AnnieN}

 

Check your Myvodafone that no data bars have accidentally been applied.

Excellent stuff.  Just to clarify: on a pay-monthly contract (apart from Red Sharer), data won't cut off when you reach your included amount.   You'll simply be charged £6 (I think) per 250mb until your month rolls over.  It's possible to get extra data at (again, I think) £6 per 500mb, but that'll apply every month until you cancel it.  You can also upgrade your contract allowance, but that is non-cancellable before the end of the contract period.
