HTC 10 on Vodafone

So, exciting news about the HTC 10 yesterday.
The leaks left me doubting if the device was good enough, but initial reviews suggest it might have got it right.

In the meantime TechRadar suggests VF are sitting on the fence about whether to stock it.

I'm sure a helpful VF member of staff will point us to the pointless "Coming Soon" page. Thanks for that.

Meantime here in the real world who would like VF to stock the HTC 10?
Is it incredible or even possible that VF are considering to NOT run with it?

I was speaking to one of their online upgrade specialists and they said they would be definatley stocking the HTC 10 in about a week, I also had the transcript posted to me by e-mail.

@ian henson, I don't want to burst your bubble but I have about 3 chat transcripts from the sales team confirming HTC 10 will be stocked within the next couple of weeks (this was beginning of April). If you have time, go back to the previous pages I have posted the exact wording somewhere. I just wanted to warn you that the fact it is in writing does not mean it is true in fact.

Just spoke to the upgrades team here in the UK and they confirmed as far as they are aware there are no plans to offer the HTC 10 directly by Vodafone as of yet, but they stated that could change but they would be the first to know, so my advice to all is don't bother with live chat and just contact the upgrade team instead.

A guy in the upgrades team told me today that despite there is no official information on HTC 10 availability, apparently VF is negotiating a deal with HTC to throw in a freebie like they did with Galaxt S7 (VR), LG G5 (earbuds, CAM plus) or Huawei P9 (Smartwatch). Did I believe him? NO. Ordered the phone direclty through HTC website with the 10% discount and I'm having it delivered on Friday.

This may be true and would not suprise me as HTC are launching there smartwatch week commencing 6th June 2016

But anything is possible.

@iar1980 that would make sense from the perspective VF want to offer a freebie. The reason why I think it's a very bad idea is the fact by the tim VF will have a deal with HTC and they will supply the smartwatch all the people that are due an upgrade will be with other providers or would have bought the phone directly from HTC. I'm a happy owner of the moto 360 2nd gen and I'd rather have the phone right now that in a months time with a freebie. I'm sure that the price plans will be expensive enough for VF to make up for the freebie.

@burso83 You say expensive with the freebie, but I was offered the p9 + smartwatch on the 2gb tariff for £27/month and no upfront costs. Breaking that down:

24 months @ £17 (sim only deal) leaves £10/month for the handset = £240. The watch alone racks up at more than that.....

Eitehr way HTC all the way for me! Picking mine up in 2 weeks and case arrives tomorrow

@bizzare_ads I meant the plans offered with HTC 10 will be expensive, even if a freebie is a freebie, you won't get a 2GB plan for £30/month and no upfront with HTC 10. I remember my M8 was £42/month with no upfront. and I'm pretty sure the HTC 10 if ever happens will be roughly the same. Looking at the current price plans of LG G5 and Galaxy S7 I expect it to be somewhere between, perhaps closer to S7.

have you ordered directly from HTC? I did and during a conversation with the customer rep it turned out he was unable to provide me with an estimated shipping date, certainly nothing more accurate than May 2016, he kept repeating... Anyone who ordered theirs directly from HTC, have you got any indications of the shipping date? I was expecting to have mine delivered tomorrow, but now I know that CPW have changed the shipping date to 18th May same as Amazon did. That looks like unexpected delay to me.

I was in the Cheapside store today near St. Pauls and asked them about the HTC 10. One sales assistant seemed to assume that they would be stocking it although he hadn't heard anything to confirm that. Another one knew confidently that the network would not be stocking the phone.

There is no doubt that the HTC 10 is not coming to Vodafone and that's been the position since this thread started. What I cannot get my head around is the network's inability to send a simple message to the whole estate telling them that they will not be stocking the HTC 10 and to tell any customer that enquires about it that they won't be stocking it.
