My daughter has been given an Alcatel OT-800 that was on Tesco Mobile, hence the phone has a bunch of Tesco specific stuff on it. I want to get her a VF SIM and was wondering if there way a way to do a "Vodafone" reset on the phone to get rid of the Tesco stuff and set up all the VF settings.

Hey jimHudd,

To be honest there are two things to look at here.

If it is things such as a splash screen or pre installed applications then you won’t be able to get rid of these without flashing the software on the phone.

In regards to the actual settings, these can be installed by using the guides available in our help centre.

You can also get her a PAYG SIM from our online store free of charge and don’t forget to register for Vodafone VIP and Vodafone Rewardz one you have the new SIM.

Thanks for the reply.

I'd like to flash the phone actually as doing the factory reset has locked it back to tesco and I have to wait 28 days for Alcatel to e-mail the network key.  If you could provide me with, or point me to, a suitable image and flashing instructions I'd be very grateful.

I've already got a VF sim for it which I currently can't use until the phone is unlocked, so the sooner I can do that and activate the VF SIM the better.
