Internet Settings

Hi guys still fiddling with my N900 and i'm just wondering if my internet settings are correct for going outside because whenever i try accessing a page i get SERVER not found? :( with here goes.

Vodafone Internet GPRS

Connection type: Packet data

Access point name: Internet

Username: web

i assume the password is web but are these settinsg correct?

These are the default settings, i did phone Vodafone support earlier and the guy said the N900 wasn't supported by Vodafone yet so he couldn't send me a message with the settings.

really stupid question i know your sims in right?

And have you tried it on home wifi

also you can try downloading fapn from the phones update menu and download have both apn and wap....

What about re entering the fields above into the internet connections setting via the left hand corner green squares, settings, internet connections and edit connections but of course you need seperate access to a comp to read this and set it on your phone.

Hi nappleton,

Had a similar problem, which started after i had turned off the "auto connect to wifi". Couldn't get the blooming thing to connect, even tried standing in the street holding it in the air.

Problem was - after i had manually connected to my home wifi, then going out - and coming back, tried connecting to the internet and nothing. OMG! new i shouldn't have read about these faults on the eForum it's catching.

Then of course i remembered that i now needed to manually connect to either the wifi or 3G, by tapping the status bar and selecting the connection i want to use.

You haven't fallen into the same trap, have you?

My sim is in lol

Internet works fine on WIFI, tbh thou this all started when i phoned Vodafone customer services earlier today and asked them to remove the over 18 restricted content thing from my account so i could browse the net while out on the move because when i tried it this morning i got that.

Maybe they just stuffed up my account and somehow blocked my net?

Ok seems i actually have to go into connections and click on the vodafone internet to connect to the internet but shouldn't it just connect if the 3g symbol is on anyway?

Hi Guys,

From what I can gather Maca0716, you are now able to connect to the internet fine now.

If you do require any further help from the moderating team all you need to do is post back and somebody will be along shortly.

Thanks B-)

Not sure if I've got a problem, but the only connection I have listed is "Contract WAP" and any Wi-Fi connections that are detected by the handset.
There's nothing to do with Contract Internet GPRS as there was on my N95 and there's no option to create a GPRS connection when I attempt to create a new AP, Just WLAN.
