LG On-Screen Phone (PC Suite version IV)

I'm trying to use the On-Screen Phone feature of PC Suite IV (with my GT540) but every time I connect the phone by USB, it asks for a password. No where in the help file or documentation does it say anything about a password!

I have contacted LG and received a reply in pidgin English which says the password is 0-0-0-0. I have tried this and it does not work.

Has anyone here used this application successfully and, if so, what's the password?

Hi Whitbywoof, welcome to the eForum!

I'll be honest here - I've not come across this before and I cannot find the information online that you were asking for.

I'm going to get one of the guys in the morning to see if he can find out anything on this for you.

Kind regards

Re: LG On-Screen Phone (PC Suite version IV)

Thank you for looking into it for me.

LG have not been very helpful and their website isn't the easiest to navigate; but in fairness, I think much of their 'help' and manuals is lost in translation.

I look forward to your reply, even if it doesn't answer my question - at least then I can stop feeling stupid for not being able to get it to work!

Re: LG On-Screen Phone (PC Suite version IV)

Hi whitbywoof,

Thanks for your reply. I've tried to find some information on this feature but can't seem to find anything at all. It's possible that the password it's asking for may be along similar lines to a bluetooth password. That is, you input one on the computer and then input that same password on the phone. If so, then you'll be able to choose anything you like.

If that's not the case then I'd recommend speaking with LG about it. Also, if any of the forum community know the answer to this one, then please feel free to share it :smileyhappy:.

Re: LG On-Screen Phone (PC Suite version IV)

Sussed it.

1. Goto Wireless Settings,

2. At the bottom where it says On-Screen phone settings, click on Change Password.

3. The default password is "0000". So change your password.

4. Then once changed, shut your phone down and your pc down. Restart and try it now.
