Thank you for your post; I understand how frustrating it can be to have a faulty device.
From what you have stated on your post it sounds like more than just one software issue, as a precaution it may be worth checking your settings are correct using our Help Centre.
It may be worth taking it back to a store to get the handset assessed, they can then advise you of your options, although I would strongly recommend backing up your contacts and information because if you decide the best action is for it to be sent of for repair the handset may be wiped.
To save your information I would recommend using an app called 'Vodafone People' which will sync your contacts with an online account, then when you receive the handset back you can re-install this and sync your contacts back onto the handset.
